Boba and Fenn: Nym Hunters

So, I decided to break out an "oldie but goodie" ship for a Mando themed list. Besides having some fun with an old friend (updated with some contemporary cards), I wanted to build a list to compete with the current store champion who flies Nym ( VI, Genius, Bomb Gen, Adv Sensors, TLT) with either Dash or Dengar.... and I wanted to deliberately counter a couple of recurring store lists that fly in tight formation (Flechette cannon TIE/D Defenders or a TIE swarm). I went 2-1 with this list, but still lost to Nym (after killing Dengar):

Boba Fett (39) -- 60 pts total

  • Veteran Instincts (1) -- PS10 and an initiative bid (99 point list) allows Boba to move AFTER Nym moves
  • Engine Upgrade (4) -- Boba often needs this to get ships in arc
  • Ion Cannon (3) -- a Nym neutralizer if used right
  • Dengar (3) -- making up for lack of chips; and it with Boba it gives me 3 rerolls against named pilots at range 1
  • Assault Missiles (5) -- worked great for the Defenders in formation, but I think it's suboptimal against most lists
  • Glitterstim (2) -- for that one-time up-close, go-for-broke, alpha strike
  • Andrasta (0) -- three total bomb slots lets me equip...
  • Bomblet Generator (3) -- to give Nym a taste of his own medicine AND because its fun to repeatedly reveal, drop a bomb, go 1 forward, and use Boba's rear arc

Fenn Rau (28) -- 39 pts total

  • Push the Limit (3) -- all kinds of arc dodging (and offensive arc manipulating) with PTL
  • Ion Torpedoes (5) -- added primarily to cripple tight formations, but it makes for a 1-shot Nym neutralizer
  • Concord Dawn Protector (1) -- keeps Fenn alive when he goes in for head-to-head kill shots
  • Autothrusters (2) -- needed against turret ships like Nym, Dash, Dengar

LIST TOTAL: 99pts

** HERE IS WHERE I AM LOOKING FOR THOUGHTS **

I'm thinking of swapping out the anti-formation ordinance types, and maybe even hanging Extra Munitions on Boba... that would give me this:

Boba Fett (39) -- 61 pts total

  • Cluster Missiles (4) -- to provide 2x 3-dice attacks at Range 1 (with 3x Boba and Dengar re-rolls acting as a target lock effect)
  • Glitterstim (2) -- for that one-time up-close, go-for-broke, alpha strike
  • Andrasta (0) -- three total bomb slots lets me equip...
  • Bomblet Generator (3) -- to give Nym a taste of his own medicine AND because its fun to repeatedly reveal, drop a bomb, go 1 forward, and use Boba's rear arc
  • AND: Extra Munitions (2) -- to provide TWO of those Cluster Missile shots during the match

Fenn Rau (28) -- 38 pts total

  • Push the Limit (3) -- all kinds of arc dodging (and offensive arc manipulating) with PTL
  • Proton Torpedoes (4) -- I thought about APTs (6), but I would have to lose a point somewhere else (drop 'Stims for Inertial Dampeners?) AND lose initiative bid... or Plasma Torps (3) (a 98pt list) -- to burn an extra shield point?
  • Concord Dawn Protector (1) -- keeps Fenn alive when he goes in for head-to-head kill shots
  • Autothrusters (2) -- needed against turret ships like Nym, Dash, Dengar

LIST TOTAL: 99pts

Open to any and all recommendations (as long as they are about kitting out these two ships)!

Sometimes the best counter to Nym is Nym, and Boba is a great counter too. I used him with Nym and cruise missiles with an initiative bid to win a store tournament a while ago. Two five Dice attacks with Chips and target locks can ruin even an X-7 Defender’s day.

My worry about Fenn is that he wants to be at range one, but if he does he’ll get bombed to ****. Boba and a friend is a great list though.

Cr^p... squadron builder has a bug (it gives Boba two bomb slots to start... NOT the case).

  • Engine Upgrade (4) -- Boba often needs this to get ships in arc
  • Ion Cannon (3) -- a Nym neutralizer if used right
  • Dengar (3) -- making up for lack of chips; and it with Boba it gives me 3 rerolls against named pilots at range 1
  • Cruise Missiles (3) -- to provide 2x 3-dice attacks at Range 1 (with 3x Boba and Dengar re-rolls acting as a target lock effect)
  • Glitterstim (2) -- for that one-time up-close, go-for-broke, alpha strike -- see comment on VI
  • Slave 1 (0) -- Torpedo Slot lets you equip....
  • Extra Munitions (2) -- to provide TWO of those Cruise Missile shots, and TWO Cluster Mines (see below) during the match
  • Cluster Mines (4) -- to give Nym a taste of his own medicine AND because its fun to repeatedly reveal, drop a bomb, go 1 forward, and use Boba's rear arc

Open to thoughts... and I realize this is not a current "meta" list. But I would rather think about what's cool than fly what somebody else flew at a big tourney!
