Hello to everyone!
I need some help. Do you have any suggestions to give me for create a scum list to play Maul and to value it? I would like to play it in the next tournament but i'm not sure of what other figures put in the list. Putting many force user cards in the deck for boost a single figure his senseless, in contrast to enhancing it as a brawler it's not easy.
Maul List Suggestions
Maul 7
eJawa 3
BT-1 6
C-3PO 2
eGamo 8
eWeequay x2 14
= 40
Maul 7
Jabba 6
eWeequay 7
IG-88 12
Greedo 4
rNexu/rHired Gun 4
=40
Probably won't win world championships but I think it packs quite a punch for normal tournaments
Ricope is probably better at this than me, and you'll suffer on the Ranger map if you stick to the regular scheduled rotation, but I'd go for a more Melee brawler the, just to really hunker down on the new cards.
maul 7
eGam 8
beast tamer
eNexu x2 (or regular Nexu)
jabba 6
temp alliance
Hera 4
Gideon 3
jawa 2
Black Market
get the new brawler cards and leader movement and power token cards, move and brutalize the enemy and have fun. It's probably terrible fun
Thing is I have no clue how "good" Maul is since he pretty much just came out, but I do know the terrifying IG-88/droid army and the sneaky Jawa. OP did mention he wanted to use Maul and Maul is a Brawler + Force User...I think Maul is the first? Mercenary Force user so there's literally no synergy. Brawlers can do pretty well on Jabba+Anchorhead map but kinda suffers on the Ranger map (so you'll need shooters like eWeequay or IG-88)
IG-88 is a literal killing machine if you can use him well, don't forget his mini-SoS (blaze of glory)

I have been toying with this idea:
Terro 7
BT1 6
Inquisitor 9
Imp officer 2
Imp officer 2
Temp Alliance 1
Maul 7
Onar 6
Its a total pile really, but there are five really heavy hitters in there and the target priority becomes pretty difficult. The original sort of sneaky plan was really to ensure that BT1 is not a primary target and can get decent 4 shot attacks in for a longer time then normal where he tends to be focused down pretty fast, but over a few games (I have played it with Bossk and an eJet (not happy with this one in the deck) instead of Maul and Inq) it actually has a pretty good feel to it.
Edited by RamFor a totally thematic pairing (erm...), here goes:
Maul 7
Jedi Luke 12 (another force user/brawler)
Gideon 3
Temp Alliance 1
ePigs 8
Greedo 4
eJawa 3
C3PO 2
Not sure how it'd play, but it should be fun!

Thank you for the suggestions! What do you think of this one? Maul with Gomorreans Spam
C3PO 2
JABBA THE HUTT 6
GIDEON ARGUS 3
MAUL 7
GOMORREAN GUARD ELITE 8
GOMORREAN GUARD REGULAR x2 12
DEVIOUS SCHEME 1
TEMPORARY ALLIANCE 1

Idk who is going to be benefiting much from Focus. The Guards can use it every once in a while to try to get a cleave off and I know it's hard to say this but I think your 6 points could be better spent than Gideon and 3PO(blasphemy I know)
Personally I'd go with something like this for a brawler spam with Maul.
Maul
ePig x 2
eTusken
Greedo
Ugnaught Tinkerer x 2

Regular Gamorreans are pretty weak. I'd recommend trying Shyla out. Her whip is really good at setting up attacks for other melee units. She also shares the Brawler trait with Maul. She was in the list that won worlds and my list that I got 3rd at worlds with so she's definitely top tier. I also think Jabba is overrated. You're almost always better off taking Onar. A merc list without hunters is like an imperial list without troopers right now to be honest.

On some maps/scenarios I would expect that you would be just plain out killed by ranged attacks. Its a cool set of meanies, but they are in general pretty slow Close combat dudes,
I would definitely recommend Greedo and a second set of elite Pigs instead of double regular Pigs. Even without Hunter cards, Greedo + Focus token is best kamikaze in the game.
It's probably absolute trash but I'll be running this at a casual event this weekend:
THE SITH LORDS
Vader
DbH
Palpatine
Temp
Maul
eClawdite
2x Officer
Zillo
40 points
What about:
Maul 7
Bossk 8
Shyla 8
eWeequay 7
rWampa 5
eJawa 3
C-3PO 2![]()

I love Shyla and my first intention was to build a list for play her with Maul. You say to drop Jabba and take Onar? Mmmmh and what other pieces can complete a hipotetical Hunter/Brawler List?

Pretty Cool though i think Bossk its wasted if you use him as a brawler. But is one of my favorite figures in the game.

My main goal is to see how strong of a list I can create without hunters. It sucks because in Rebels it's very difficult not to come crawling back to those Rangers, but in Scum I think there's potential.
Ha ha, and my main hope for Imperials is to make a vehicle list work. :-)

A friend of mine wanted me to make a pure flavour list based on Maul's adventures, it's an empire list featuring him and Palpy as big bosses:
Temporary Alliance 1
Zillo 1
Rule by Fear 1
Palpatine 8
Maul 7
eWeequay 7
eSentry 10 + Trusted Ally 1
2x rOfficer 4
not a pure brawler list, but interesting perhaps?
This one can be an acceptable compromise?
C3PO 2
Devious Scheme 1
Gomorrean Guard Elite 8
Gideon Argus 3
Greedo 4
Maul 7
Onar Koma 6
Shyla Varad 8
Temporary Alliance 1
We have Hunters and Brawlers in egual number and C3PO and Gideon to take focus and in the case of the old man also mobility.

Real Interesting Yes! I think that is hard to use Maul as a Force User because there isn't Scum Force User Command Card at the moment. You can use also the generic with him. The Cards based on Dark Side are all Imperials and can be used only by Imperial Force Users i think.
Far from a competitive player, but I did enjoy playing this last week:
Bossk (8), Jabba (6), Maul (7), Onar (6), Elite Weequays (7), regular Jawa (2), regular Nexu (4)
I have tryied this one at the last tournament.
Maul 7
Shyla 8
Gomorrean Guards Elite 8
Onar 6
Greedo 4
Gideon 3
C3PO 2
Temporary Alliance 1
Devious Scheme 1
As i expected they suffered the Nal Hutta Swamp but they do well in the Jabba's Palace. I like the synergy between Shyla and Maul.
I played this one
-bantha rider 9
-beast tamer 1
-devious scheme 1
-black market 1
-temporany alliance 1
-maul 7
-nexu 4
-ughnout 3
-ughnout 3
-e/ughnout 5
-c3po 2
-gideon 3
what you thanks?

That actually looks fun! How did it handle dealing with things like Snipers (i.e. Elite Rangers and Elite Weequays)?
After many game I have change my list:
-Maul 7
-E weequay 7
-vinto 5
-greedo 5
-jabba 6
-black market 1
-temporary 1
-chopper 3
-c3po 2
-clawdite 4
what you think? This one is nice fun in nul hutta A
My dad used Maul with the Last Resort attachment. Maul is not defeated when he suffers damage equal to his health. His plan was to rush into a group with Maul on his last activation and perform an attack (Cleave and reach, focused from Jabba), then deplete this card to deal a load of damage to everyone nearby. It didn't work out too well for him because his opponents were too smart to keep their figures within Maul's range.
If you see the discussion about the Maul + Last Resort combo, as far as I remember you will see a ruling that Last Resort must be used when Maul has suffered damage equal to his health, not just before he is defeated. So, he can't wait until the end of his activation.
