Anakin pairings?

What do you think? He’s cheap, powerful, and has tons of options due to being neutral.

With villains, it’s gotta be Tormented Kylo for mono-color, because he can’t pair with Spirit of Rebellion Vader. But who else? For hero, his ability synergizes really well with Qui-Gon Jinn, but his Villain version is probably just more powerful (since shields aren’t very valuable with Vibroknife being a thing). What about paired with two magnaguards? Or non-elite paired with the Grand Inquisitor?

Qui-gon

You can have elite for both. Discard any Hero card you dont see as that valuable in the situation to make Qui-gon make bye-gons

Anakin/Ahsoka is reasonable. No direct synergy, but reliable dice. And style points.

Anakin/Kylo2 is a pretty sweet take on the Emo Kids for a second go around. Definitely the first place my mind went.

Magnas are 9 pts each, so you can't fit 2 unfortunately. 1 MG, 1 Servant isn't the worst though. Getting access to Electrostaff and Imperial HQ is pretty clutch for economy.

The real question is, will the Rival set come with two dice for each new unique character?

FFG parting ways with valuable dice profits?

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA doubt it....

It says 20 cards and 9 dice, so I’m guessing there’s 20 different cards in this “set”, nine of them with dice, and the draft pack comes with exactly one of each. So, like the two-player starters, you’ll want two.

Finn! You get options for both actions out of his ability. But, that deck would also stink of Finn, so probably not.

Luminara Unduli

Why Unduli?

Anakin's dice arent all that great even if buffed by 2.

How about new Rey?

But will that be legal? If so... That seems like pay to win.

its not pay to win unless theres a special card you can only get by paying through the teeth and its unbelievably strong

They seemed to indicated that draft/sealed would take on the format of 'one Rivals pack' + 6/8 Boosters. So you can only use one Rivals pack to play legally in draft/sealed, but you will want to pick up a second Rivals pack so that you can run two copies of those cards/upgrades/characters in constructed.

What's more: you need to buy FIVE of these to get a full playset of Jawas. But who would do that? Me.

With all the cards being neutral there should be some interesting choices to be made.

If you play a sealed/draft do you but the set and the packs or can you come with a Rivals Pack that you opened elsewhere?

If you have to buy a new pack each event 5 Jawa cards may be easy enough to collect in time and a few events.

I want to pair him with Luke Jedi Knight at 1 die..... (Father son Duo make me happy)

I'd try him with elite K-2SO, more consistent damage than Rey, better protection than Kanan, while still giving access to Bestow. Not extremely competitive most likely, but I'd like to try it anyway.

It would be an avaricious shop owner indeed who forced you to buy a new Draft pack every time you came in to play. It could happen, but I feel like most would be fine letting you bring your cards from a previous draft.

Hey that's not bad. You could pack two Riot Batons, two E-11D Rifles, and two DT-29's. Give Anakin the Baton, and either equip the guns to Finn, or throw them out with the special for a sneaky bit of damage. I like it!

While I guess the simple answer is one of trust, I wouldn't trust me as far as I could throw me. :D

If these new neutral characters only come with one die... we're going to see a lot of jawas and 26/27 points worth of non-elite characters being played.

Me and some friends made a draft tournament when EaW came out. Only difference with those rules were that you had to bring 2 non-unique character of your choice instead of the draft pack and we drafted 9 boosters instead of 6. What happened is that everyone played 3+characters, nobody elite. It was really fun and a good change from constructed.

So far I am the only one it seems that thinks Qui Gon Anakin will be OP. 8/12 dice generate shields or melee and 2/10 generate resources. It is so focused. I love it.

Nope youre not the only one

Quigon Anakin was the first thing i thought of, and probably the only thing that sounds devious since his ability is kinda meh.

im running anafin. e anakin and e fin 1. fin bringing in villan cards lets you be uber flexable with anakins effects, and fins effect allowing to bring seperatist landing so thst you can get battle droids

extra data

Be nice to combo with stuff that lets you pull stuff from your discard pile, preferably expensive stuff you couldn't pay for anyway and therefore used with Anakin's ability

So, Rise Again (sabers and forcepowers are great on anakin) or re-equip (electrostaff and riot baton especially)

Wait re-equip is hero. Derp
