Rivals! Official Draft format! Neutral characters!
JAWAS! ...seriously they actually added them?
Uho, just a matter of time until we get teddiz now...
I like all of the neutral character abilities in that post. Jawas being the weakest but i could see a lot of reasons to utilize that ability
Edited by Vineheart01Maybe this is why they were waiting to release the updated RRG? I hope it comes soon.
Is there a rule about number of characters?
You can have 5 jawas in a list. More than likely NOT a wise idea but it would be hilarious if you could make a deck with that and have it be atleast somewhat competent lol
No rule on number of characters so far.... that would be amazing though. Plus a 6 pt character will be awesome to help fill out some previously non-viable combos!

Just note that thrawn and tormented Kylo will have an easy time for their abilities against that kind of deck

Oh theres no way a deck with 5 jawas would be a meta-defining deck.
I'm more talking about its still capable of winning when its not facing one of the "meta" decks (thrawnkar or kylo/fn for example)
Conflicted Anakin is the partner Qui-Gon has been looking for? That’s the first thing I’ll be testing out.
Really looking forward to this, maybe more so than Legacy. I love building decks so this may bring me back to store play.
Funny, I started a thread a while ago with the suggestion of neutral/grey characters... it was dismissed and doubted.
kinda curious what determines a gray character though.
Except for Jawas and Ewoks or some generic droid character, what would dictate being gray instead of yellow?
According to the current rules for team building, you can't play the neutral characters in constructed. lol
A player must select either hero or villain characters; hero and villain characters cannot be on the same team.
Why bother bringing that up?
This is obviously a game mechanic they didnt plan on initially and will simply errata the rules for. Even if they dont do that nobody will ever say anything about a neutral in a hero or villain deck as long as it isnt all 3 in the same deck.
I just thought it was interestingly humorous, hence the lol.
Someone in our group was asking if you played all neutral characters if you could mix hero and villain cards in your deck (based on the current rules it looks like you can) and I noticed the bit about selecting heroes or villains.
Edited by netherspirit1982I hope that this Draft set announcement leads to a new Rules soon...
now thats a valid question.
I seriously hope they dont allow that. There are some REALLY dirty card combos out there that are impossible due to one being Hero the other Villain.
See: "At Peace" combined with "It Will All Be Mine" - you will need 6 resources to pull it off and have Swiftness, At Peace, and IWABM in your hand but thats a pretty lethal combo if it works.
Could technically do it in 2 turns but like your opponent is going to let his dice sit on solid blanks for a turn.
They will have to change this:
• If a team has hero characters, its deck cannot contain villain cards. If a team has villain characters, its deck cannot contain hero cards. Neutral cards can be included in any deck.
I'm sure the Draft set has its own rules page, which will include waivers to certain rules. It would be there because only in Draft and Sealed can you have Villain and Hero together. In regular Destiny you still don't have Hero and Villain together.

Yeah, it said that in the article, during draft you can mix hero/villain.
For constructed, assuming they update the team building section to include neutral characters, they will also have to update the deck building section, because as it stands right now, if you play all neutral characters, you can mix hero/villain cards in your deck.
Finn is the current only way to mix hero/villain cards, but he only allows red villain weapons/vehicles iirc.
Which wouldnt be a problem. Its the events im worried about.

How would that work? I did not see anything in the article saying Neutral characters can have both Villain and Hero cards in the same deck. What it said was their abilities are worded to be effective in either a Hero or Villain deck.

Obviously this will probably change, but currently the way the deck building rules are worded, if you play only neutral characters you can play Hero and Villain cards in your deck. Per the deck building rules:
• If a team has hero characters, its deck cannot contain villain cards. If a team has villain characters, its deck cannot contain hero cards. Neutral cards can be included in any deck.
All neturals means you have no heroes so you can include villain cards, it also means you have no villains so you can include hero cards.
We sure the draft pack is playable in standard constructed play? Netrunner had draft packs too that weren't playable in the standard format.
