Armada shops in London!

By Rimsen, in Star Wars: Armada

Dear Admirals!

I'm going to spend some time in London, (leaving the old land) and I would like to know where are shops / clubs to buy (and play) Armada there. I don't know, I guess it's more expensive there to buy things, or how are the prices?

Thank you!

Hi there,

I can recommend you Warboar games in Bromley or Dark sphere in Vauxhall. Prices... you know its cheaper to buy online, so if you want to support a shop, just close your eyes, there is not much difference in pricing.

I've found dark sphere to be actually cheaper than some online prices in some instances

+1 for Warboar in Bromley, South east London. My FLGS and hosts regular tournaments, including London Masters on 28 Oct (sold out - 30 players and 4 rounds). Follow the Facebook page to see events. 20-30 mins from Victoria station by overground train.

Wayland Games in Essex has a monthly game day and is a good venue, if a bit further out of London.

Sometimes Ibuywargames in Woking has tournaments. Smaller shop only 20 mins from Waterloo by train.

Dark Sphere is nice and central but not as good a setup as the others I find. And doesn’t seem to do regular tournaments.

+1 for Dark Sphere and Warboar. However I believe that Warboar have recently implemented a members system that affects table bookings. I'm not sure if you can book a table without being a member, or if you can play the without being a member, but it's worth looking into. It's a great play space with a cafe on site and the manager and staff are always really friendly.

I've recently set up a WhatsApp group to help with organising games and finding opponents at Dark Sphere. It's small but growing. If you'd like me to add you then pm your mobile number.

My girlfriend is a huge boardgaming fan and visited UK for two weeks with her sister over the summer, a week of it in London. She absolutely loved a gaming shoppe called The Thirsty Meeple, which was half café, half game store. I'm not positive they have Armada, but it sounds like a place worth visiting.

Warboar is great place, Dark Sphare as well. None of them is my local games shop, but I've been to both for tournaments and it was excellent experiance (especially Warboar).

And I thought that The Thirsty Meeple is in Oxford? Or they have more shops? I was in Oxford one and it is very nice cafe and games shop hybrid.
