I feel like the forums have died down considerably the last couple weeks. Fewer posts, fewer responses. I do this mostly at work in the time I have between things and I'm getting bored at work
I used to not have enough time in the day to respond or read everything. Now I find myself responding and reading things I wouldn't normally. Where is everyone at?
Forum Hum Drum
Most traffic is articles, no articles, no traffic.
I wish it was more active too @Curlycross
There's a number of discussions we should be having in more depth too. Maybe I'll get around to making some threads
What do Elf lists look like now that they've been released for awhile?
How are the Elves faring in the tournament format right now? (my thoughts: might be hard for them to 10-1)
Have the lists for other factions changed in response to the Elves?
What terrain are people bring with them to tournaments and why?
Tournament scoring? How do people feel about this right now? Should it be adjusted
Tips, tactics, and thoughts on tournament objectives? Personally I wish Bounty would have rotated out
There's probably more this is just off the top of my head. Lots of depth to this game that hasn't been discussed much yet
I'm busy with all these elves I'm painting!
List building is still fairly shallow, too. Death Knights and Crossbowmen will shake that up pretty considerably, so I'm quite looking forward to those landing.
Game isnt big enough to have legitimate strategy discussions. Even with crossbowmen/DKs/elves its basically just each faction has 3 actual lists with only slight tweaks being the difference.
So unless theres an article there wont really be much traffic here. I imagine once Uthuk are out and every race has several options we'll get a lot of topics popping up about a combo we didnt think of yet, counters to combos, building for the objective, etc etc.

I think Elves are going to struggle at worlds now that Waiqar and Daqan are going to have DKs and crossbows...they only had like 3 weeks before being underpowered again...poor lil guys...

10-1 games will generally be reserved for old hands sweeping novices. 2 experienced players should not see them.

This is why they need to slow down daqan and Waiqar until uthuk and latari catch up so they can coordinate releases. It's going to suck for Latari and Uthuk players to go to premier tournaments and know they have a serious disadvantage.

I imagine they'll let the other factions catch up. Probably be pretty even when scouts / wraiths hit?

Hope so but evidence of that is not on our side. Uthuk dont know what their first non core unit will be, latari dont have their 2nd non core unit announced and their 1st non core unit wont be out for worlds to compete with xbows and death knights.

I don't think xbows and death knights are valid for worlds. It's 11 days right? Worlds is Nov 1, release is Oct 26

You're going to need at least one 10-1 or 9-2 to win a tournament. 6-5 and 7-4 isn't going to do it, because even a bye is worth 8 points in the current system.
I think people are going to have to pursue a very aggressive strategy in tournaments because of the scoring system. This would be another good topic to discuss

IDK the cool off period, so I'll take your word for it, but my more general concerns are still apt. In this specific case I am glad to hear we have 3 factions on even footing. That may not be the case in the future however.
I'm very excited to watch any streamed games that come out of worlds.

That depends on game state, 10-1 implies perfect counters and heavy RPS more than anything if player skill is removed.
Last armada national (canada, toronto) was a 24 pt top 2 cut. No 10s on that as far as I know, and Toronto is an extremely competitive and competent meta.
That's the closest we have to a similar metric, when wave 5 dropped and objective play became much more central, 10s started to become less and less common. I'd say runewars gets he benefit and starts in a more reasonable state in this respect.

Premier Tier tournaments: All product is legal in North America 11 days—typically the second Monday—after the product's official release. This allows players at these high-profile tournaments sufficient time to acquire and prepare with each new release. (Includes National, European, North American, and World Championships)
I think this article forced them to release the Ravos article
Peer pressure FTW

funnier they didn't re-release the pulled article.
I posted a lot during the day as a student, but now that I have a job, I'm only on in the early mornings or evenings. Aside from that, my financial investment in this game does not match the time investment. I mean, I only have a core but spend a lot of time on the wiki, so I don't have any boots-on-the-ground knowledge about strategy and game play. Of course, that's only one person and doesn't explain the recent quietness. Though from my point of view, the past week has actually had quite a bit of activity.
I'm eagerly awaiting the full release of the Uthuk, myself.
I figure the game will be a lot easier to attract new players to with a full complement of faction choices.
The game is so new with limited options at the moment so not much to discuss. I am curious if Elfs have had a big impact on any local metas. Are they splashing into Daqan or Waiqar at all?
