Explain to me something...

By Muelmuel, in Star Wars: Armada

There is a turret on the top of the gozanti, and its pointing backwards. BUT it can't fire backwards. Why ffg why? (how much game balance is one blue die?)

(Coz armada is doing well that I gripe about these things :D )

AA turret?

For the same reasons the Gr-75 can't shoot out the sides... game design! :D

I think Indiana Jones' father can explain why. He had a bad experience once as a rear gunner. ;)

It's an Anti-squadron turret that can fire a black or blue die in any direction. My guess is that that turret wasn't strong enough to be considered anti-ship armament :)

So, I checked its schematics and yes...

It is that simple.

The Dorsal (upper) turret is a Twin Laser cannon - which is its anti-starfighter armament.

The Ventral side (lower) turret is the Heavy laser, which is its primary anti-ship firepower, and it has a restricted cone of fire due to its placement.

This board is a wonderful place

Do u have links to the imperial plans, I mean, schematics? :)

So the ventral cannon can't rotate? Kinda weird that it is placed at the rear while the cone of fire is forward, passing through all its tie complements

Of course, I don't have an online one for the chematics I had... But when I find one that is online, its totally ball-turret mounted to.

Sheesh.

So, I guess it can rotate. its just that there's a bunch of stuff in the way, and the Sensor Arrays all point forwards .

If you're in combat, the first thing you do is release your TIEs.

In some depictions, its mounted more forward - in this one particular, it is a full rotatable turret - so for there, I actually think its less "can't shoot backwards", but more can't hit a **** thing since its through your own sensor blindspot in sensor wash or something.

I don't really know. Maybe the engine cowling of the rear fuselage sticking out so far really is a hinderance.
