Upcoming generic tournament: no named pilots & no unique upgrades

By Tupacca, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi all,

I've got a interesting tournament coming up soon: No unique/named pilots, no unique upgrades, no more than two of the same small ship and no more than one of the same large ship (so no triple jumps or tie swarm)

I'm fairly certain i'll go with imperials and have designed the three following lists:

2x Glaive Squadron Pilots, x7, Predator

1x Royal Guard Tie, PTL, Title, AT, SD

100

or

2x Glaive Squadron Pilots, X7, Juke, Twin ion engine

1x Royal Guard Tie, PTL, Title, AT, SD

100

or

2x Glaive Squadron Pilots, X7, Adaptability

Shadow Squadron Pilot, Rec Spec, FCS, Advanced Cloaking Device

100

So all fairly action efficient with access to good mods, high PS and decent re-position actions.

I've wanted to include an aggressor with TLT but the points are awkward, I also thought the PS1 Delta x7 would also be good to include.

Would like get your thoughts!

Thanks

I'm assuming scouts are banned here...

Some sort of Imperial trip aces is probably the way to go. 3 VI X7s is how I would do it.

(though actually when planning for a tourney like that myself I was going to run 2 PS5 fangs with ATs and title and 2 PS5 scyks with ion cannons, all Mindlinked, it's a really strong list for the format but it needs a lot of practice)

Hey @thespaceinvader

Thanks for this, scouts are legal but you can only take one large ship of the same type. Three VI X7s would be nice, but again I can't take more than two of the same small ship.

In terms of fangs, I was considering the below:

Mandalorian Mercenary, Mind Link, K4, Engine, Cruise Missile

2x PS5 Fangs, Mind Link, Title, AT

What do you think?

Solid.

With those restrictions though it's going to be tough to beat triple Imperial elite aces. 2 VI x7s and a PTL Royal Guard, maybe, or my list I was thinking of trying was:

Juke mk2 glaive, Standard Super Soontir layout RGP, FCS Sync Adaptability LRS Cruise /sf. All PS6, which is basically the same as all PS9 in context, and punchy as heck.

Thanks @thespaceinvader

I was literally writing that exact juke list a moment ago!

I feel you can get a lot of utility from both juke a predator. The former is strong because at PS6 you'll likely be shooting first, and the latter because there will probably be lots of low PS to trigger two re-rolls and pseudo target lock.
