I heard it direct from a FFG employee that would know.

If you are expecting an official announcement I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. I doubt they'll address it.
All the best the Erik tho, good luck on his future endeavours. Never like to see someone lose their job like that. Hopefully lands on his feet. I got the feeling that most of the old l5r players enjoyed the fact that the lcg FEELS like l5r which I think he was definitely a big part of.

Well, they did say anyone talking about it, that doesn't mean official announcement. Were is any source besides a post on a forum that he's gone? That said, where's a source on the circumstances of his leaving? Can we keep to facts instead of speculation?

I doubt we will get any more information on this. Guy who posted this is basically saying he knows someone at FFG who told him that Erik has left the company. Anything else surrounding that will not be public knowledge unless someone at FFG leaks the information (Which is a bad way to keep your boss happy), or if Erik publishes his tell-all book. FFG isn't going to announce that someone left unless its one of the top executives. The most we will probably hear from any official source is if he gets replaced, they will announce that they are now working on L5R.

Or Erik goes to work else where? Even without an official announcement, it'd be pretty obvious if his name is no longer shows up going forward, and his name appears elsewhere. I'm not saying official anything, that doesn't mean word won't get around eventually. Right now it seems like a bunch of speculations that I'd rather not react to like they're fact. Not saying anyone's wrong, just saying that right now sounds like a lot of hearsay that, that could be tempered a touch.
I thought we already had evidence that he's working for the Crane Clan under the pseudonym Kakita Kaezin?
It would be a conflict (terrible pun absolutely intended) of interest if he worked for the Crane and FFG. They would end up horribly OP.

I mean, yes we can all just wait and see.
But when Lukas left ffg, he posted it on Facebook. Unless Erik decides to do the same, we won't get anything official.
However, not getting something official doesn't mean we can't discuss on the assumption that it's true. Given all the glassdoor posts about ffg, I am a bit concerned that such a short while after the biggest lcg launch in history a designer is let go.
To be clear, I haven't heard anything about the reason he's not with FFG. For all I know he left for a better opportunity. Of course, he could have been fired but I haven't heard anything on that.
I do know that there tends to be a pretty high rate of burnout for dev staff. Not sure that is the case for Erik or not.
I do know that other Dev staff have dialed back involvement in playing/designing their games outside of work hours. Also, allowing Dev staff to contribute to multiple games is a way they use to avoid burnout on one title.
That said, I can't offer any concrete reason Erik is no longer with FFG.

Does he even have a Facebook or twitter? I was looking for him, in hopes of seeing something there, but to no avail.

That assumes he was let go. That's my point on the wait and see, if we assume that he has left is true, we have NO indication to the reason. Yet this is twice now that you've posted inferring he was let go, and there has been nothing that says that. So either you're a glass empty type, or you're purposefully putting forward a narrative to support pre-established beliefs.
As well, I have tried several times to make clear I'm not just talking about official word. Word has a chance to get around, doesn't mean it's official.

lmao. That is what I have heard. You are free to believe whatever you like. What kind of agenda do you think I'm trying to push anyways? A man left / lost his job, which sucks either way since he was one of the three core designers, regardless if he was fired or if he quit. I'm not going to dig around to try and find out which it was, but its more likely than not he was let go based off what i heard.
If you are looking for word getting around, this is it.
FWIW, from secondhand stories there was friction between Erik and the other designers. Not sure if that played a role in him leaving or losing his job (whichever it was)but seems like chemistry may have been an issue on Dev team.
