Acuqisitions Incorporated!

By BruceLGL, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Whaaaaaaat

This is going to be great.

Wait he's running a Smuggler is his crew going to consist of the Dathomir Nightsister version of the Trash Witch, a Darth Maul lookalike and a Chopper inspired HK Assassin Droid??

OMFG! It's like they've seen my dreams and combined two of my favorite things. I can't wait!

This could be really good to get more people into the game too.

Which would completely overwhelm FFG's book-printing capabilities... <_<

This is like winning the lottery for FFG. AI is a driving force behind the huge d&d popularity surge. I hope that they work together to make this a big thing.

This should be interesting... hope it's not a one shot though!

Whose running it for them and are they familiar with acid pits??

What is this thing you talk about? Never heard of it...

For webcomics I have read the order of the stick, GM of the rings and Darths & droids. And some girlgenious, but it became tedious after a while. Never seen this mentioned before

So there's this incredibly successful web comic called Penny Arcade. One of the side projects of the two creators has been a series of Dungeons & Dragons games played first on a podcast and then live in front of a huge audience at their Penny Arcade Expo conventions. The GM was one of the D&D developers, and they had some minor geek celebrities as players along with the PA guys. And now they're doing an Edge of the Empire live game at their next convention in Australia.

IF you can spare the time, search "Acquisitions Incorporated" on youtube. They're lengthy, but very entertaining and hilarious! Chris Perkins is my dream GM. He's brilliant.

You could literally imagine all of Acquisitions Incorporateds adventures being set in star wars if you assume Jim Dark(sith)magic is the one who owned their original ship before he crashed on Not Faerun (and why Omin learned to pilot ships and giant Mecha) where it led to a dramatic encounter with Omin's sisters who run a rival smuggling group before falling foul of Omin and an Imperial mercenary unit called Force Grey!?

Oh and the Kylo Ren they refer to is Aoefel which is where all those comments about acid pits is referring to!

I need podcasts on my daily walk to work, so will look into this. Thanks for the tip!

How can I download it?

Don't know, they are usually put on Youtube after a few days if that helps. I have now watched it and they butchered the rules, but that doesn't matter too much for this type of show.

It was good, but the flow wasn't great compared with their D&D shows, hopefully that picks up as they become more comfortable with the characters, setting and system.

So they were playing something inspired by EotE but not quite EotE?

It is EotE. They fail with rules sometimes (I guess they delierately take a light approach to this), but this is a very nice session with great role-playing. Highly recommend to watch to any new GMs/players to get the gist of the game.

It's on you tube, but the version I'm watching has no sound for the first four minutes or so...

Also Jim Darkmagic is the GM!?

I didn't realise his secret identity is Gabe!

So any additional information on this?

Character sheets?

What class of ship is the Mynock?

I don't think those details really matter. What matters is how the players role-play and use the mechanics of the system to have fun)

You'd think they would have improved their supply chain by now, with how frequently they end up with products being sold out.

I would say the mechanics are quite relevant to how the players "use the mechanics of the system to have fun." For some people, such as myself, the crunch of the game is at least half the fun. I remember this one 5th edition character I played. He was a fighter, a smith whose purpose in life was to prove that halberds are objectively better weapons than glaives.

The joke there, of course, is that the two weapons are utterly identical in 5e. The difference he was so obsessed with exhibiting and proving was simply nonexistent.

Character sheets are often really personal things, and/or contain "secret" elements. No reason to expect them to be published.
