For just the initial Core box, will the table size be 3x3?

For the core a 3' by 3' works good.

For context, Runewars is played on a 6'x3' table. Normally, it's a 200 point game. For single core games, you play 100 points on a 3'x3' with a special mission... which is basically just attacking each other.

I would expect the same for Legion.

• Normally 800 points on a 6'x3' table
• Single core is likely 400 points on a 3'x3' table
• There might be a special 400 point mission for single core games

You want the actual table to be more like 4x3 or 4x6 so you have space outside of the play area for cards and such.

Agreed. If I were making a table from scratch, I'm make an 8'x4' table. That allows for a 6'x3' playmat in the middle of the table with a 6" stripe on either long edge for cards, dice, etc. It allows allows for a 4'x1' section on either short edge for dead models, staged models, rule books or whatever. The gaming tables where I play most often are 8'x4'
