Yup. You can move bowed characters into conflict.

Yes. If a card tells you to "choose a character" then you can choose any character. If they apply a restriction like "Choose a character participating in a conflict" the only restriction of what you can choose is a character participating in a conflict. The only exception to this is if your card says to bow someone, you can't just choose a bow someone bowed, since the game state doesn't change.
But stays this bowed character bowed when sent into conflict? Or is it "automatically" readied?

Useful for using abilities that require participation, but not useful for contributing skill towards the conflict. Unless you have a way to ready them later.
