Should I sell my Sabine card? Need help

By Gibbilo, in Star Wars: Destiny

Hey everyone! I pulled a Sabine from the 5 packs of Empire at War that I bought from my game store.

Thing is, I don't have any thermal detonators and refuse to spend ~35-45 dollars on TCGplayer or Ebay to get them. I might get a few more packs of EaW here in the future and I suppose might be lucky enough to get a thermal paint in one of them.... but I figure chances are low.

So overall this character seems worthless for me and my casual collection. Do you think it's worth holding on to the character incase more thermal weapon types come out? Are there other weapons worth playing on her I'm not really thinking about?

Or is just better to sell her and buy more packs with the money? I would consider trading her away for another similarly priced character but no one in my community seems to play destiny. Would ebay be the best place to sell her?

Thanks for the help!

ironically shes best not even using thermals. She's best with double DL44 guns so she gets Ambush + kill an opponent die every time she activates (just keep swapping it out).

She can get rather ridiculous if you abuse that mechanic, leads to some pretty silly combos.

Like Vinehart said, she's not even that good with Thermal Detonators. You just want Ambush blasters and Thermal Paint. She's generally best as Elite, so you probably want to keep an eye out for a second copy if that interests you. But there are some pretty good options running her 1 die with the new Poe as Elite too.

Or sell her now and buy her back later when she gets nerfed. She is good with ambush weapons. The choice is yours but go YouTube and watch Sabine in action before making any decisions.

Yeah, she might get hit with a nerft, but how long has it took FN to get nerfed...... still waiting.

If you really like the character the build a deck around her, minus the termals. If you don't like her, trader her or sell her.

I love playing my Sabine, she is no way over powered and there is no need for a nerf on her... you only have to look at the results form tournaments to see that.

I would not worry about buying two TD's as inturth there nice on her but no big deal if you don't have them.

The "nerf" when it comes will likely be on Ambush cards not individual characters.

Probably so! Something that says you can't stack Ambush or maybe even to say that you can't put same weapon in place of an old weapon to gain it's ability.

She's a prety good character, even as a single die version. Depends, I guess, on how casual you are and wether you can/want to build a deck with her. If you've got enough to make it work, have fun with her. You don't really need Detonators, but I would try to pick up a pair of Thermal Paints, which should be really cheap. If you're just not interested in building a Sabine deck, I would definitely sell her and get some more packs to fill out your collection.

@Gibbilo If you need a T Paint pm me your address and you can have one from me as I'm sure I pulled 7 or 8 of them... no charge as I don't mind the cost of a stamp to help out a fellow Sabine player.

I was watching Team covenant on youtube and this was mentioned and it makes a lot of sense. The idea from them was that ambush was changed to...

Ambush - After your action you may resolve a dice.

I would like to see it expanded to....

Ambush - After your action you may resolve a die and a modifier if able.

This would mean that characters like Sabine and Cad Bane cannot just resolve everything on the table but things like It's a trap still have a place in the game - 2 resources for 4,5 or 6 damage is still pretty good.

It obviously impacts FN slightly as he can't just roll in ambush after ambush after ambush weapon.

It obviously may break a few things but I think it would be the best way to fix parts of the game and leave the characters it affects still viable.
