Phantom 2 faction converter crew

There is a crew card in the phantom 2 which says scum only on it. I propose that this card converts scum ships to rebel ships. Rebels teamed yo with a shadow caster, mist hunter, hounds tooth, firespray, or skurrg(all pilots?) would be really interesting and fun. I like the idea. Scum pilots are helping the rebellion right and left in cannon so it only makes sense that that goal against a common enemy thing is employed mechanically. I'm sure this crew will cost a couple of points and fill the crew slot, making it balanced and still worth fielding scum as it's own faction, but it'd be really cool to run bobba/Han or vcx/lancer lists just because.

The crew is Maul, and what you propose doesn't really fit with any of the text visible on the card.

Someone proposed something like "Scum and Ezra Only".

This is how I'm expecting it. It'll either be Scum or Ezra Bridger only, or Scum Only, Ezra Bridger counts as Scum for the purposes of this card, or something like that.

Thank you. I actually didn't see it. I absolutely hate that. No good reason, I just didn't like that arc on rebels. Complete personal preference. But. FFG take note, having a sabine or hondo that switches a ships faction for a few points would be dope. You are missing a big opportunity here.

Yeees please introduce that qualifier so we can have Ciena Ree as Thane or Imperial only crew with some really strong coordination effect. And as Interceptor pilot! Interceptor/Lambda combo pack anyone?

Yup. The fact that an expansion has an upgrade card that can't be used on the expansion ship doesn't cross my mind...

Ugh. No. There's already more than enough crossover between Rebel and Scum. The two factions are starting to lose their unique identities to each otheas it is.

If you ask me, all ships should have some level of cross play, there is no reason why a pilot, regardless of a faction, would not hop in a "Insert Random Fighter" if its needed for survival in a combat situation, they just might not be as GOOD in it as say a Imperial, Rebel, "Hutt" Trained pilot....

For fluff, certainly. But when it comes to balancing a game...well, there are threads talking about the most broken pilot/ship combos.

I'm not a fan of cross faction swapping for the sake of it. I can deal with it when it actually happened within a storyline e.g. Sabine, HWK-290, Boba Fett (pre-scum is a little different but still makes sense) etc. but as a mostly single faction player, I picked my faction because that's what I liked best and related to most, and for other ships/characters to be flippantly swapping factions ruins the whole idea of having factions in the first place.

People who are requesting to have a 'Scum' Han/Falcon simply because Han wasn't affiliated with the alliance at one point doesn't constitute a Scum option in my opinion. I think a lot of people forget the full faction name is "Scum and Villainy'. There's nothing villainous about Han or Chewie, you could maybe argue Lando, but having them as Scum faction characters just rubs me the wrong way.

I believe Maul's card will be along the lines of the previously mentioned 'Scum and Ezra only' as this makes the most sense. Maul only really affiliated himself with Ezra (even if for nefarious reasons) and not the rest of the spectres. Whether this will allow Maul to be equipped on Ezra's attack shuttle is another question in my mind, and makes me think it could possibly read 'scum and sheathipede only' but we'll have to wait and see.

Well I mean even basic ships, such as the Tie Intercepter, Tie Fighter and etc, can all and was all piloted by members of both scum and rebel alliance groups. Maybe not the advanced fighters outside of storyline plot reasons like the defender with wedge and rogue squadron or tie phantom with Rookie One and Ru Marleen...

I can even see Empire using Arc-170s and Z-95s thematically if you wanted to do a pre tie fighter empire, as they did use clone war era fighters in Star Destroyers... can even release the V-Wing as a all faction interceptor, but really make it unique with its playstyle between the 3 factions who used them in various ways with various modifications.

Even the Pirate Factions used some fully functional Tie Fighters or X-Wings, sure, it very small numbers, but sometimes had a entire wing of ties at least! I knew it threw off some rebel squadrons in a storyline or two....
