The Last Jedi Trailer

Breaking lore is a minor, albeit annoying issue. If the Silencer has missiles but we never see them used (like the Strikers bombs) it wouldn't be a huge deal. My issue is that it appears, at least how the trailer is cut, that Kylo might end up killing Leia with missiles (he's certainly considering it). If this is true then omitting the missiles from the Silencer would be akin to omitting the torpedoes on the X-Wing.

How do we know it wasn't just the trigger for the primary weapon?

And who's to say one of the as of yet unspoiled cards will add a missile slot?

This is a crazy amount of supposition. The Kylo and Leia shots in the trailer may even be from completely different parts of the film, it wouldn't be the first such misdirection in a Star Wars trailer. And that button Kylo's hovering his finger over could be missiles, or lasers, or bombs, or a cartoon boxing glove on a spring, it could be ANYTHING!

O.O

Someone please make the cartoon boxing glove on a spring upgrade card!

What are you talking about?? Both the T-65 and T-70 have torpedo icons!!

Rey is a descendant of the Shmi Skywalker and Qui-Gon Jinn line. Look at those googley eyes they make at each other in a Phantom Menace, they definitely got it on off screen. Anakin see Shmi again is what, ten years. Enough for the off spring to be sold.

In seriousness, I think Kylo is Rey's half-brother. Leia is the mother to both, while they had different fathers.

Exactly. How many times do people say Gameplay >>>> Fluff, then all **** breaks lose when some fluff went missing.

In addition, everyone knows that there must be tie-in ships to release before or around the same time as the movie or the fans will poo a little lot. We also know that development is usually starting around 10-12 monthish before release. so they were already working on the design of these ships back when Rogue one was in theaters. I bet they are already working on the Han movie tie in ships, and soon will be starting on Ep 9 ships. A lot can change in the development cycle. Hence why no K2S0 for example.

I would also like a punching bag on a spring missile upgrade card

Which means the whole "red button" scene could have been added AFTER Carrier Fisher died and the script got a rewrite to get her out of Ep 9.

Just noticed in the shot of the AT-M6s lining up with the Upsilon overhead you can see a couple of smaller AT-ATs.

Poster looks good to me.

Why is this penguin wearing a Jedi robe?

Yeah, I mean everyone was convinced Finn was a Jedi because of those trailers :P

Whoa!!! Leia had a little somethin-somethin on the side? Who do you think it was?

Everyone saying that Kylo has Leia locked and loaded, ready to end the Rebellion but has anyone considered that Kylo may actually be contemplating firing on his own troops once he knew that Leia herself was there?

Maybe he was locked on to Poe who was going in for the kill shot on a F/O Star Destroyer, Kylo had him dead to rights but a mental conversation he was having with Leia held him back?

Maybe another squadron of bombers was about to put the finishing touches onto Leia's flagship and Kylo knew he could save her if he opened up his primary weapons upon his own troops?

My problem is that people are jumping to conclusions before even seeing the movie. Those could just be the triggers for the cannon on the TIE Silencer, but for some reason, people decided they must be triggers for missiles. Despite there being absolutely no evidence for that whatsoever in the trailer. And because of that one presumption, are now declaring that FFG has dropped the ball on the ship for the game.

Man, I remember a time when being a fan of something didn't mean finding ways to hate anything new from that material. But apparently now Star Wars fandom has shifted to hating things preemptively. It's like some weird version of hipsterism - "I hated it before it was cool to hate it!" "Oh yeah? Well I hated it before it was even released!" Somewhere, someone is already declaring that they hate Episode X before we know anything about it, just so they can be the first one... actually, come to think of it, I think I already saw that post on these forums.

You nailed it exactly. All the hate for Ep7 and already prehate for Ep8. I loved 7! I watched it again last night with my son as he's on a huge star wars kick right now (he's 4) and he loved it! I am very excited after watching the trailer for 8! Even my wife, who doesn't like SW very much is very interested as she also enjoyed 7.

It seems as if LFL can't do anything right.... too much Luke, people will whine and complain. Not enough Luke, people will whine and complain. The new movies are about the new characters and how they fit into the Skywalker saga. Vader and Obi Wan are a supporting cast to the original troupe of Luke/Leia/Han in the OT. in the new trilogy Luke/Leia/Han are supporting Kylo/Rey/Finn.

I've said it once, I'll say it again, I for one support and welcome our new mouse overlords and have really enjoyed the content they have created for us. AND I LOVED the EU!

TFA is my favourite Star Wars film, hands down.

I had big hopes for this one, but that trailer... I feel a disturbance in the force. I work for a major cinema chain and ticket sales are slow compared to either TFA or Rogue One. I don't think the awareness is quite there yet, though, Disney want to get Thor out of the blocks first.

People moan because it's the internet and what we do, plus there seems to be this strange belief that it's wrong to stand in front of a fan (or group thereof) and tell them you liked something. Happens all the time.

Personally, I like all the Star Wars movies. I like the new Star Trek movies (and series). I enjoyed Mass Effect Andromeda despite the internet community complaining so much Bioware cancelled all future DLC and potential a sequel. I like this game, despite the sheer amount of disgust and hatred people seem to have for it. I enjoy playing For Honor regardless of their community considering it "the biggest salt fest ever created since League of Legends." or for a more local reference "The centurion aka Kicky McCutscene generates more hatred that the Jumpmaster 5000" yet I still play it and enjoy it.

However, the community / fandom is what it is.

Back on topic though, I am hyped for The Last Jedi, i think the trailer showed too much but I have still bought tickets to a double IMAX 3D viewing with 9 like minded people and we will have a blast either way.

you and I are in the same boat. I like all 8 movies for what they are as well. I did enjoy the first two star treks, but I fell asleap on the third one and haven't tried again yet. I also haven't' tried the new series, but I don't have cable and have been too lazy to stream it. I loved Adromeda as well. I also really love X-Wing. Right now I'm trying to solve the puzzle of the local meta, without embracing the meta..... I will make A-Wings and Phantoms work again!!!

The triggers for primary guns is the literal trigger on the stick, secondary weapons, such as missiles, are frequently buttons placed where Kylo was hesitantly hovering his thumb. It's pretty obvious that he is considering activating something aside from the primary weapons.

Exactly, now imagine what it would be like if they didn't. That is point that I'm making. If the scene in the trailer is representative of the final film, then the secondary weapons on the Silencer play a role in a major plot point, just as the torpedoes on the X-Wing did in A New Hope. Omitting them would be a huge oversight.

Maybe I am just a bitter old man, but I did enjoy TFA quite a bit, even though it was just a soft reboot. I am looking forward to seeing TLJ on opening night. I'm just a die hard Imperial, and am tired of the way FFG treats my faction. The lack of missiles is just the latest in a long string of disappointments.

Huzzah! Fellow non haters unite!

I will grant the critics that Ep7 really feels like a reskinned Ep4, but I understand that it had been quite a few years without any star wars on the big screen, requiring a bit of a re-introduction for the new viewers who weren't die hard fans of before.

I am really liking Ep8 from the trailer and hoping for a great movie.

I don‘t know if it was you, but some in here linked that to him killing Leia and that this somehow gave more importance to the missiles of the Silencer. That‘s all kinds of wrong!

Besides, missiles would put him over 50pt, which is nonsensical unless you are a Krayt
