What did you learn today?

By Ziusdra, in X-Wing

I learned to love Kylo Ren's Upsilon Shuttle, and that it pair's well with a certain infamous Decimator pilot who never learned how to parallel park.

For seconds, today you learned that you can acquire a target lock on a target you already have a target lock on for the purpose of triggering effects, so when you K-turned, Targeting Astromech would have allowed you to TL the same target again triggering Hobbie's ability to remove the stress token.

Its in the FAQ.

Does this count if you are flying Quickdraw and shooting him in the butt at FCS TL range 1 shot whenever he drops a bomb?

If you don't mind eating bomb damage, it's fine. Also depends on Rebel or Scum and VI.

If you're lucky and he's not, you're into his hull on the second shot and theoretically can kill him before you lose your last shield. However my dice are backstabbing, lowlife pieces of eight sided plastic that hate me so I try and play the long game. Sometimes that even fails.

Yeah, usually, I'm not in a rush to get QD damaged. I mean it will happen on its own over the course of the game. There is something to be said to doubletap someone (once during activation and again at PS 9 to 11) and try to get them off the board. But it was also just fun to stalk him all like

I learned (from playing an Original Trilogy only game) that Porkins is really good at dying, especially when he try's to use his pilot ability!

The Jek Porkins Foundation: Feed the Rebellion hot dogs and burgers!

I was flying two x7 Deltas and TIE/D Tractor Beam Vessery. The Delta that blocked had a Target lock, and the good Colonel had Expertise. It was horrifying. And educational. But mainly horrifying.

Try ruthless tie d tractor vessery sometime.

Favorite ship in the game.

Ruthless triggers in both attacks and after the tractor movement

I learned 2 Deci with Rage and Inspiring Recruit is pretty fun.

Also, GFH just got put back on the boat as of Friday... :(

and this is why Wookiees and Trandoshans don’t get along...

That's just amazing. I'm off from school and I'm watching a Clone Wars episode with Trandoshans hunting a Wookie :P

What makes it more amazing is that I’m at school, wearing my Chewbacca jacket because it’s snowing outside!

how'd you learn this one?

I learned a few things:

1) How to pull data from a website API.

I googled it! Honestly, that's how.

Another thing I learned today is to quit reading nerf threads. For two reasons.

1. They "harsh my mellow".

2. Raise my blood pressure.

I played three casual games Sunday was REMINDED; simple lists are fun, even if I get trounced.
Flew Stridan with Fleet Officer and Pattern Analyzer with three Omega f/o's sporting Crack Shot and Comm Relay... just simple and fun.

Was 1 for 3 for the day, after switching to Sol/4-LOM/Laetin for the last match and getting handily crushed by Churro and Stele.

I still like 4 x T-70's or T-65's. Not very competitive but I like to see how much damage I can cause before they die. They can be very destructive.

Today I learned that cream of tartar is a by-product of making wine.

I need to mess around around T-70's more; I used to fly two Red Vets with Kyle in a HWK, lots of fun.

One of my favorite lists is Cracken, Garven, Hobbie, and Tarn... Not competitive but along the lines of what you said; fun to see how they do.

TIL that I still love love love BB8 Primed Thrusters Poetensity Poe. He is one **** of a pilot!

If you ever fly against an Imperial list with all PS 9 pilots and your opponent doesn't pay attention to the other factions try this build.

Roark Garnett, Cracken, Blount and a Tala. TLT on the HWK and your choice of missile loadout on the Z's. Cracken and Blount with Swarm Tactics.

Roark makes Cracken a 12, Cracken makes Blount a 12 and Blount boosts either remaining ship a 12. This worked much better when Cracken's ability worked twice with Cluster Missiles. This really tends to irk the competition! A one trick pony with a heck of a kick.
