Constant Abilities and Could the Mind

By Jotaha, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

So, I was wondering the following: Cloud the Mind treats the character it's attached to as if its printed text box were blank except for Traits, so it "erases" Constant Abilities, but, the ruling for Constant Abilities states the following:
"A constant ability becomes active as soon as its card enters play and remains active while the card is in play."

So, Cloud the Mind "erases" the ability, but the card is actually still in play, so does the effect remain active anyway?
Could the Mind doesn't say anything about stoping ongoing active effects or anything like that...

Treat the card like it is blank, except traits. So the constant ability would go away as long as cloud the mind is in play. If cloud the mind gets removed, the ability immediately comes back.

So given something like Honored General, if he gets clouded, the rest of your lion dudes don't get +1M. But if you then let go the cloud the mind, it immediately comes back.

However, on a triggered effect with an on-going component, the effect is regardless of the card (At least as I understand it), so if you then blank someone (like Shoju) it doesn't disable anything they have already done. For example, if you Cloud Bayushi Shoju after he has targetted a character, and then Shoju's player targets with a Fiery Madness or Sinister Soshi, the target would still die (Assuming they hit 0 Political).

To answer that, let's look at Ascetic Visionary. He has two abilities, one is a triggered ability and the other is a constant ability.

If I play Cloud the Mind on my own Ascetic Visionary, I will no longer be able to use his triggered ability to ready one of my Monk characters (or characters with a Monk attachment). I will also not be restricted by his constant ability, so I could play a non-Monk/Tattooed attachment on him. If something caused him to loose his Cloud the Mind, those attachments would instantly be in violation of his constant ability and would be discarded.

During the Facebook Live Play that covered the Dragon clan, Brad Andres stated that Togashi Yokuni's ability targets a characters "printed" triggered ability. Although Cloud the Mind treats the card as being blank, it still retains its printed text for this ability. Therefore, while the Ascetic Visionary has Cloud the Mind on him, Yokuni could target his ability and subsequently use that ability to ready a Monk character (or character with a Monk attachment). He could even ready the blanked Ascetic Visionary because Cloud the Mind does not blank his traits.

*In the future (further down this post) you will learn that Cloud the Mind cannot be attached to Ascetic Visionary as it is neither a Monk nor Tattooed attachment. I leave it here, as the rest of the example shows its full effect. (In fact, my screw-up shows its limitations too!) Thanks a lot for proving me wrong @Laurence J Sinclair , ya big jerk-face!! :D

Bad example; you can't put Cloud the Mind on Ascetic Visionary as it isn't a tattoo or monk! :P

What I'd give to put Cloud the Mind on Moto Horde.

What I'd give to put Cloud the Mind on my wife to negate her

Reaction: ignore husband's pillowtalk. (This reaction may be used any number of times per round.)

Hilariously, that is true!
