Never known his parents, he is from heimin birth and was abandoned orphan to a temple.

Not a good monk material, he was a hopeless novice always snooping around the kitchens. There he got burned accidentally on the face by oil dropped by the Heimin cook Hashibaru. Full of remorse, the cook took him in and taught him is trade.

One day he woke up after a delicious smell reached him in his sleep, and walked non-stop up to the dragon Mountains. There he found Yokuni, who tattooed Him a Soup Spoon

Nice, seems like a fun character.

How long did the entire process take you? And do you think having made one character, creating another would be quicker?

i was sitting right around 2 hours creating a Kakita Duellist last night, curious to hear how long it is taking others

Once I had settled on the idea of this travelling gourmet and matured it, took me a little less than 1 hour.

Honestly, what took the longest was selecting advantage/disadvantage and reflecting on interesting Ninjo and Giri.

I'd say now it will still take me around 1 hour.

overal it's okay compared to 4th edition, where the spending of points and linked calculations took a bit of time.

I'm experienced enough with 4e to cookie cut a character in 45 min but it could take me 1h30-2h to make someone interesting.
