Starfinder Masterclass Miniatures Kickstarter

By thestag, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I was made aware of this Kickstarter for miniatures for a game called Starfinder. It's based on pathfinder, which looks like a pen and paper RPG and also a card game. I've been unable to find anything useful about Starfinder outside of the Kickstarter page.

Is Starfinder a pen and paper RPG? Is it a grid based miniatures game? Does anyone know or heard of this before? The miniatures look really cool, but the price point is probably beyond what I would want to spend... probably. Also I can't find anything definite on the scale of the minis. I'd be more likely to purchase if they were a common scale like IA (30mm ish). The scale is 28mm, so they could work with IA. Thanks to anyone who can help with this.

Yes, Starfinder is a pen and paper style RPG, but "pen and paper" really is an inaccurate term these days. Most of them are now grid based, meaning you have a drawn map on grid paper (usually laminated with dry erase) with characters represented by minis like the ones in the Kickstarter.

It's not really a minis like Warhammer, Legion, or x-wing. It's more of a way of helping players visualize the action in RPGs.

Thanks for the clarification @Uninvited Guest . I used to play the old West End Games Star Wards RPG. back in middle/high school (20 years ago). Fond memories of that. Having some minis and a grid to play on would have been sweet back then.

I still have several of those old books, I could probably run something with that and IA...

D6 system never goes out of style. if you want to lighten your load id be happy to assist ;)

i have gotten more players into RPG's by way of the D6 system than any other...im excited to get the new books when they hit the shelves
