Bolt of change + Bloodthirster

By pancerek, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

May I play "Bolt of Change" (Action: Until the end of turn, one target development becomes a unit with 2 hit points and 2 Power. It also counts as a development. ) in order to sacrifice it for Bloodthirster?

I read somewhere, maybe in some FAQ reviews about a "0 phase" before Kingdom Phase. May I play this card in that 0 Phase to keep Bloodthirster alive?

What's the wording on BT, "at the start of your turn"? It's a Forced, so IMO it kicks in before any Actions can be taken, so couldn't use BoC in time.

Not sure if you would be able to do that, but actions typically allow for responses even if they are forced actions. The 0 phase is listed in the current FAQ and is the beginning of turn phase when things like that happen.

In response of the forced action of the BT you play Bolt of change for my it works.

I'm afraid that it's Dam who is right.

According to the rulebook Forced Effects occur and resolve immediately after their conditions to trigger are met. In addition, they must not be interrupted by anything else.

Such a shame because it could be a really nice combo imho ;)

in a forced action there is still a action window, and u can play in response.

Oh really? Where is it said in the rulebook?

BTW. There is no forced ACTION. There is forced EFFECT which shouldn't create any action window.

It's a good but very often discussed topic. I don't really remember what Dormouse and other specs said about that. But it could be a tricky question according to possible Ork combo.

If it worked as you input, I could have played also Followers of Mork, then deal that indirect damage to Lobber Crew and in response play their action to sacrifice them.

How about that?

You must play a responce to an action not to the assigniation of the damage.
You have to respond ,of the forced effect ,not of the assignation of the damage.
You can in response use lobber crew but you will have to assign 2 other damage on other unit or zone

But i can be mistaken.

Hi,

I'm sorry, but you are not right on this.

Forced effects are entirely different form actions. When they happen then you could not play any action... they happen fully before anything else could happen.

Regarding Followers of Mork / Lobber crew the combo does not work :

- You could sacrifice the crew in response for that Followers of Mork is played (but not in play already thanks to LIFO)... but then you could not take the indirect damage on them since they died before it happen

- Or you could deal the indirect damage to Lobber crew, when the die before they would be able to use their ability

Regarding Bloodthirster, you could not respond it's forced effect... so he won't accept walking houses as sacrifice I guess. happy.gif
