Dynamic Freighter (Ebon Hawk?) spotted in canon

Not to worry KoTOR fans, Rey did not fly it. (Yes that is Jakku in the background.) I am not an Old Republic fan and I have to admit I’m a little smug about this ship design getting nabbed for a TFA-era children’s comic.

Yeah, I spotted this as well! I decided to subscribe to those comics because they’re canon. Do you think that now this ship and the bounty hunters who flew it in the comic have a chance to appear in this game?

I would like to see more game content from the newer comic releases, but FFG seems to be ignoring it. Shara Bey is the only recent comic character to appear in X-wing Miniatures, and they put her in the wrong ship with a pilot ability that has absolutely zero thematic value.

I agree.

Also, when are Dr. Aphra and her droids going to show up in X-Wing? The new Marvel comics are pretty repetitive - they don’t really come up with that many new characters. It seems like it would be pretty easy for them to fit all the new characters from all the comics into one $40 Ark Angel expansion pack with both Scum and Imperial pilots.

There’s a lot more going on than Doctor Aphra.

There have been several mini-series, a few 1-shots, two different Vaders, Poe Dameron, and the ongoing Star Wars comic is over 30 issues. I think there’s more than one box worth of content.

I actually own all of those comics, and in my opinion, there haven’t been a ton of new characters and (relevant to X-Wing) there haven’t been a ton of new starships. The comics seem to follow the same few characters that the original trilogy does. Sana Starros is cool, and her ship might make it to this game as well, but other than that, all they’ve really done in all those comics that you listed is create an “evil” version of Han (Aphra), Chewie (Krrsantan), C-3PO (0-0-0), and R2-D2 (BT-1). Sergeant Kreel and SCAR Squadron might also warrant a game appearance, but they’d most likely just be crew members included in the Ark Angel expansion.

The other thing about the comics is that if you actually look at it, the villains are almost all recurring villains. Grakkus the Hutt has showed up in three different series, the Ringmaster became Sergeant Kreel who showed up as the boss-villain in all three series where Vader wasn’t the boss-villain, Cylos IV-VI took up most of the Darth Vader series, and any characters who aren’t one of the heroes from the movies, Vader, Grakkus, SCAR Squadron, or Aphra’s Crew are treated as redshirts, usually dying in the first issue they appear in.

So, in my opinion, the entirety of the new Marvel comics universe has only generated two ships and about seven characters worth adding to this game.

Chanath Cha and O-66 from Labdo would be great inclusions in a Scimitar Sith Interceptor Expansion.

First Order Light Cruiser (Enshado) could be an Epic Expansion with Terex, Malarus and TN-3465.

Evaan Verlaine, L’ulo and Kare Kun have been recurring characters for the Rebellion and Resistance. Unfortanately they all fly different ships. Suralinda fits in there somewhere too, but probably just as a crew upgrade.

Technically, Evaan Verlaine already exists in this game... there was a typo, and her name was spelled “Keyan Farlander” :P
