Can Dengar remove blinded pilot by choosing not to use his ability so he can use it on another attack against him in the same round?

No. If you decide not to use Dengar's ability, you don't get an opportunity to attack, and if you don't get an opportunity to attack you don't clear Blinded Pilot.

Why is it different from being normally out of range, or a snapshot out of range, or in the TLT/HLCdonut?
There the question of ‚would there be any hypothetical chance to attack?‘ is enough.

To directly quote the FAQ:
If a ship gets an opportunity to attack from a card effect (such as Dengar or Corran Horn), that ship can resolve one of those abilities and flips Blinded Pilot facedown.
Emphasis mine. You must resolve Dengar’s ability to get the opportunity to attack, and since he is restricted to using that ability once per round, that's him done for that round.
Edited by DR4CODitto for Snap Shot or QD's ability, which are the other two big ones at the moment, and Jostero's when G4H drops.

Thanks
Sometimes I go in circles because it never came up again in the meantime and I forgot why it was the case in the beginning
