And it ends in yet another tabling for me. :( That's been 3 these passed 4 games. . . sheesh.

We played @Blingvarr's Dangerous Territory, and though I managed to make the points earned from the objective even, I fear I had to put my 30 in a less than optimal spot to do so, and that led to its death by one dice's damage on the last shot of round 6.

The final score is 270 to 60, for an MoV of 210, or a 10-1 in Bling's favor. The only thing I managed to kill was Zertik, and was so close to killing Jendon. Another sad thing was that I never once used the side arcs of my 30 at close range, as I had to repair every round - poor Madine went unused. My most sincerest apologies to @DoubleDown217 for flying his list so poorly.

Here's the logfile - note that in the end we calculate the MoV wrong because we played the game into the squad phase. We looked up the rules just after I stopped recording and fixed it.

Despite my loss it was a fun game (as have been all my games so far) and I would be happy to play Bling again. Thank you to CNinja for hosting the tourney and to Bling for playing!

Don't sweat those rough patches. They can be so frustrating! I'm glad you are having fun, because that's what it is all about!

(Blingvarr's list is OP :) )

Dorrin played a great game. He was able to take advantage of deployment advantage, activation advantage, squad advantage, bid advantage, firepower, and maneuverability.

The two interdictors with Motti are tanky, but, when jendon and Maarek get to shoot unoppsed at any ship, it will not go well. That and a demo triple tap will finish most anything.

I should have set the stations on one side of the table as bait and parked the interdictors at speed 0 waiting in the opposite corner and tried to mitigate the loss, instead of protecting the stations.

One must figure out how to best utilize the fleet given. I did not do that? You live, or die in this case, and learn. Thanks for the lesson Dorrin.

Tokra defeats Doobleg 225-0 (well, there would be more points coz of objective tokens, but I conceded when the result was certain). :)

This fact aside that the result seems to be a little one sided (my dice were total hot today), it was a really interesting and great match. To fly a one ship list, and only an Interdictor, against an ISD with this insane frontal power is something new.

We were flying my Precision Strike. And the Firesprays can farm victory tokens really well on this one (the other two missions would not have been better). Doobleg had one close range shot with the front on the Interdictor. But the Targeting Scrambler reduced the damage a bit. After this i came out of the front arc and there was no way anymore for him to get it back around for another front shot. At this point he conceded (understandable) because the Firesprays were in his front and could finish it turn by turn.

It was a really great match.

These one ship (and even two ship) lists have one big drawback (you can see it this round :)). The results are really often 10-1. Becoming tabled is really easy this way. But the matches are really fast over. Short turn and it if over at turn 4-5 most of the time.

In a one-ship list, Engine Tech Interdictor is the new Demolisher!

I faced of against @Maturin
Result was a 144 to 0 for details see my write up here.
We played my targeting beacons.

Well played game!

I feel slighted... Not in the rules section. ::humph::

See If you get a full explanation from me, now, on Thrawn..

Dras you will always be the honorary Salon Des Perdants Rules Master.

We are a rag tag, quick-hitting, bunch of Perdants that didn't want to speak for you. You honor us with your presence.

Y'all this tourney has been so fun, fast and easy to run that I'm seriously considering making it a staple of the larger tourneys. My game against @Visovicsis set for tomorrow GMT 1100 (I think that's right).

That will only leave two games left in all of Round 2!

My match with Cninj is starting earlier than expected, kinda like, NOW!

A tense dispute over some Corellian Brandy resulted in a fierce match between Sato and Ackbar. Somehow, Ackbar lived with 1 hull remaining after getting pummeled by Sato's squads.

Paragon was the hero, dbl arcing Sato's MC80 a few times for the win. Not a single Ackbar shot to be had.

Cninja takes it 10-1 (213 MOV) in a great match that could have gone either way. (A station overlap on a ram basically saved Ackbar's AF2)

Super fun, @Doppelganger! Thanks for agreeing to the early start!

Anyone who hasn't read the write up should head over, if you crave a good yarn. Doppelgänger's crafted a work of art!

Sure thing, as long as I have a warm black coffee to cuddle with in the morning I can deal :D

Thanks, glad you liked it!

I'm still trying to interpret what it means that I'm doing better in this format than I do in standard tournies.... I KNOW there is meaning here....

Decent flyer, shite list builder?

Edit: Should clarify that is without actually investigating or watching any of your matches

Or maybe just the opposite, great list builder crappy flyer of his own lists. ?

@Blingvarr apparently you do continue the game to the end of the round after all of a players ships have been destroyed - the tournament rules specify that this is so.

So the final score should be: 287 to 80, for an MoV of 207. I do not know if we ought to count it retroactively though.

no, I have had some questionable lists.....

I think I like the "look" of some lists, but fly them improperly. This will take more investigation.

Well your list worked fine for me in round 2. ?

I'll correct this

@CaribbeanNinja

270-80

I scored max pts plus 45 objective

GNIP had 60 and secured the kill on Jendon post ship carnage earning him the extra 20pts.

MOV should be 190 ☺

Well this is fantastic...my list is now 2-20...I know I threw it together quickly....but it wasn't THAT bad...(wishing I could draw my own list)

Have you flown a Cymoon before?

Yeah, I should have done better JJ, but after flying against it in round one, I made the exact same mistake as my first opponent and charged straight in, getting arc-dodged in the process.

This is the interesting part on this tournament. Someone else playing with a list they didn't build. And yes, this means it can happen that a good list might lose because the player, who had to, has no experience in this kind of list. But i would not put to much into this. My list lost as well 1-10 this round, and i have no idea how this could happen :D.

I flew against your list in round 2. There was really nothing Doobleg could have done to prevent this (maybe beside choosing player 2). It had one big weakness. The missing squadrons. And this is what went wrong against me. I had 4 Firesprays. These kill the Arquitens in two turns. And after this the ISD lost the ability to double tab against single ship lists. And if you are not able to kill an enemy ship in one turn, you lost the chance. It is really hard to keep an enemy in the front.

The combination Thrawn, Cymoon and H9 is great. This ship is doing some really great damage. And the two black dice against squadrons are as well good. I really will use the Cymoon when it comes out. But in this special case, in 225 point lists, they cannot bring their full potential.
