Hi all,
Now, I'm 99,99% sure we interpreted this correct in the game I just lost (as the Imp during the
Luxury Cruise
side mission) but I want to ask it nevertheless, just to be sure. So, in that game the Rebs secure terminals if at the end of each round only Rebs are adjacent to the terminal(s) in question. So far so good. However, the problems arise because each time this happens the Imp receives Threat equal to Threat Level. I am 99,99% sure that this Threat boon -- which takes place "at the end of the round" (i.e. at the same time that the Rebs discard the terminal) -- technically occurs in the "End of Round Effect" Status Phase step, thereby denying the Imp the possibility to use said Threat to deploy/reinforce in that Status Phase (since Deploy & Reinforce comes before End of Round Effects). In our game this meant that I scored shiteloads of Threat that I never get to use because the Rebs, who have just cleared the map of any Imp figures, will have an entire round (4 activations) to claim all the remaining terminals befor I get to use my Threat during the next Status Phase. In other words, the Rebs won on walkover as hordes of Imps are stuck in traffic trying to get to them. Correct?
Rules clarification question -- "at the end of each round" vs. "End of Round Effect"
"At end of round" happens at the end of round step of the status phase. Threat gained during end of round through Imperial Informants agenda card or mission rules referring to end of round happen during that step, and is not available during the deploy/reinforce step of the status phase.
1.Increase threat by the Threat Level
2.Ready
3.Deploy/Reinforce
4.End of Round effects: mission rules first, then imperial, then rebel
5.Increase Round Dial
(Some newer missions have bonus effects that increase threat at the start of the status phase.)
Cool, that's what I thought. It was strange how the Rebs struggled throughout the mission only to win on walkover (with the Imps stashing loads of Threat in the bank) when they cleared the map of Imps. Fun game!
