I've found the grapple rules to be somewhat lacking in DH, so I wrote some options up for use in my games and would like some input on them.
Grapple action (full action):
Whether you are grappling or being grappled, you may only take the grapple action. If grappling, you may take an opposed Strength test to perform one of the following:
- Damage opponent: as per unarmed rules (no auto fatigue)
- Knowdown: as per RAW with the exception of opposed Str rolls.
- Soften Opponent: as per Stun attack with the exception of opposed rolls.
- Pin Opponent: Take a -10 to the opposed roll to Pin an opponent. Pinning an opponent puts the opponent in the pinned status. Once you have pinned an opponent you no longer have to make a roll to hold them. You may still make opposed rolles to injure the opponent, you may strangle an opponent.
- Strangling an opponent: established in a pin, an opposed test. if successful you deal unarmed damage and foe begins to suffocate until hold is broken.
If you are grappled, you must either escape or take control of the grapple. This performed by making an opposed strength test or in the case of escape you may use the contortionist skill, if you fail by 2 degrees you take fatigue. If you are pinned you must first break or escape the pin before you can escape the grapple, if you win by 3 degrees of success you escape or can take control of the grapple.
