Leeroy Jenkins!!!!!!

By The Rebel Fleet, in Star Wars: Armada

Does anyone have any good Armada Leeroy Jenkins stories? "Insert your best Meme here"

When I first played a Liberator I paired it with Salvation and another Neb B and charged a ISD II and VSD. My Imperial opponent was sweating bullets! He thought I had some grand strategy......... His Gunnery teams won the day but it was a fun match!!!!!!

Basically me every time I fly my H1MC80 with Ackbar. I charge it right between whichever ships are across the board.. and die. I don't want to waste a side arc.. I just can't help myself!

The one I bring up every time this kind of question is asked: The Day Ard Fell In Love With The MC30 . :)

It's a real shame @Tvayumat doesn't hang around here anymore--he always had the perfect response queued up when I'd post it.

Speak and it shall be answered it appears.

With the amount of time I spend shouting at people on the Runewars board...

My Imperial Remnant never quite recovered from that fateful day. The day the ISD died.

I have an almost anti-leeroy leeroy Jenkins moment. Bringing a Jaina’s Light TR90 with 1 hull and two side shields left to a halt on a debris field directly in front of two Ackbar AFmk2s. It sat for three turns jet watching single red dice wiff and accomplish nothing.

My leeroy Jenkins moment isn’t a moment but a ship. I consistently get my flotillas killed due to ramming way more often than to shooting. Like 2:1.

Ozzel commanding Raiders can allow for some actually-gets-things-done-and-didn't-actually-doom-us-all Leeroy Jenkins moments, although that may disqualify them from consideration given that running in screaming and ruining everything is effectively the requirement for a Leeroy Jenkins moment.

Seriously, though, going from speed 1 to speed 4 (nav dial+nav token+Ozzel) is quite good at suddenly running in screaming when you previously seemed fairly inert. When it catches someone by surprise it does my triangle-loving heart proud.

At worlds, I parked my Phoenix Home, in all of its glory, right at medium range of 2 unactivated ISD-IIs. First round of the tourney. Won the match, but lost the pride of my fleet

Final round, I first-turn-popped AFFM to send Dutch forward in an attempt to kill Ten Numb. Sent Luke in as cover. First activation. Forgot to tap Adar Talon for a yavaaris double tap. Lost Luke first round. It was downhill from there.

@BrobaFett has a similar one, also from Worlds. Involves Maarek Steele and an ISD

The first time I encountered an MC80 with Ackbar, Defiance, Leading Shots, and a concentrate Fire dial. All of that adds up to big badda boom

@Truthiness This is your thread....

Oh most definitely had one of those moments.
I suck at story telling so you'll have to visualize the pain yourself.

First time driving an ISD(you can see where this is going).
ISD-I with Screed on board, no Tua/ECM unfortunately.

Drove it straight(front arc forward) into a pack of Ackbar TRC-90s (4 or 5 IIRC) to try to use my gunnery team to my advantage.

It died. Very quickly. I learned the importance of ECM that day as one brace use would have kept it alive.

Did someone mention the MC75? Because everything about that ship screams Leeroy.

I think with Garel's Honor we will have more and more Leeroy Jenkins stories :)

I got overeager and jumped my devastator into medium range of 3 hammerhead corvettes for a last/first, thinking Gunnery teams would allow me to eliminate two of them and just take the hit from the third.

What I didn't realize is how tough TFA makes the little buggers and they both lived with 2 hull, meaning no rammy ram kills. Devastator then had to move into close of all three of them... he didn't last through that round...

My ISD used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my way
I could blow those MC30s away
and maybe I'd be happy, for a while

But Ardaedhel made me shiver
With every APTcrit he'd deliver
Bad cards on the shipcard
I couldn't take, one more crit

I can't remember if I cried
When I saw my Destroyer put aside
Something touched me deep inside
The day the ISD died.

I can try going on if you want, though I don't know if it's any good. . . :D

Maybe:

Bye, bye, my Imperial Pride
It broke my heart but I've now joined the Rebellion's side
And them good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day the ISD dies
This'll be the day the ISD dies

I'm on the quiet floor of the library trying to maintain my composure. I'd call it a success. OI @Ardaedhel

Thanks!

When learning to play back in wave 1 and not having a handle on the 3 dial command stack and maneuvering (or lack thereof) of a VSD, I Jenkinsed one right off the board!

Getting my VSD and Interdictor stuck ramming each other and landing on an asteroid...

Irony was the interdictor kept healing so my demise was slower and more painful than it needed to be.

I once rammed a Whale and a Neb into each other for 3 turns right at long range of the front arcs of 3 VSD-Is. . . and they were going the same way at the same speed. 'Twas then that I learned the importance of activation order. :)
