I have some good news looks like I will be able to start showing up until 830 once or twice a month starting in november
I will be there at some point this evening (10/6) to play one match. Wish I had more time to play longer. Busy, busy.
I'll arrive between 7:30-8:30pm.

... Derrick is planning to be there next week for us to get some last minute test games in. I have his scum list that I will show you. It's simple but going to raise an eye brow or ten. Four ships, no TLT.

Rebel List: Miranda w/ TLT, Adv Slam, Sabine, Bomblets - 2x Warden Sq Pilot w/ TLT (100 pts)
Imp List: 5x Tie Bombers (Scimitar Sq Pilot) w/ Unguided Rockets & Lightweight Frame
Scum List: 4x Jumpmaster 5000 (Contracted Scout) w/ Trick Shot
1st Round: Derrick wins with Rebel list, Sephlar wins with Imp list, Wedge wins with Scum list (team 1-0)
2nd Round: Derrick loses with Imp list, Sephlar wins with Scum list, Wedge loses with Rebel list (team 1-1)
3rd Round: Derrick loses with Scum list, Sephlar wins with Rebel list, Wedge wins with Imp list (team 2-1)
4th Round: Derrick loses with Scum list, Sephlar loses with Rebel list, Wedge wins with Imp list (team 2-2)
5th Round: Derrick loses with Imp list, Sephlar loses with Scum list, Wedge loses with Rebel list (team finishes day 2-3).
Rebel list goes 2-3, Imp list goes 3-2, Scum list goes 2-3

Generally we did good considering we did little preparation. Wedge hates turrets and it shows. Derrick had bad matchups. Sephlar's worst match up was round 4.
Favorite moment of the day for me was first round; flying the 5 tie bombers vs Dengar/Nym. I send the squad, in formation, right at Nym, who drops a bomb that catches 3 of the bombers but in doing so, I force Nym to collide with one while the other four are all pointed at him. Nym kills one bomber with the bomb + shooting at it BUT the other four light him up, killing Nym and leaving 4 bombers vs Dengar. It's still not decided of course. They chip away at Dengar as he takes one out every other round or so for the next four rounds. At the end, last turn and time has been called... it's two Bombers (1 full health, other with 1 hull left) against Dengar with just 2 hull left. Dengar must die or he wins on points... I use the nearly dead bomber to block Dengar to deny action and shoot with the other bomber. I need two damage to go through. Only 1 crit gets through... Direct hit. Lucky break.
A more difficult match up then it appeared at first. All day I figured that our bomber squad was really good at killing Nym because of this match, but looking back on it now... I think the pilot flying him simply was not patient enough with Nym. He wanted to bomb a formation squad and that is a good tactic... but not at the cost of flying right into a hornet's nest.

We finished 24th out of 35. Again, not bad considering we did next to no prep and only decided on 2 of our 3 lists the night before.
The competition was pretty solid. It was a who's who of elite level (regionals and nationals) for players in the Western Washington area for sure. Scum and Villainy podcast guys were there. Evergreen Squadron podcast guys were there. It was nice to say hang and talk shortly with guys I missed seeing during last store championship season because I played in zero as opposed to the 4-7 I usually make it to. Guys like Peta, Kyle, Travis, Blair, and of course Gabe who runs the event.

Each winner of each head to head match won a "trophy card."
So all three of us won the fan art Glitterstim upgrade (featuring Jaba the Hutt) in 1st round, only I won the fan art Tractor Beam upgrade in 2nd round, Wedge and I both won the fan art R2-D2 astromech upgrade in 3rd round, and only Wedge won the fan art Spec Ops Training title upgrade in 4th round. We all lost in 5th round to miss out on the fan art Kylo Ren crew upgrade... however it had a bad typo of only being 2 squad points, so I can't see it ever being useful in even casual play since he is officially a 3 point upgrade.
That is so awesome. If only The Matrix did stuff too. ROLFMAO!!! Never mind. ????????
