Dominator Slugthrower Gatling Retrofit for the Raider-class Corvette

Sounds much better. Streamlining it into "card language"

"Spend X Energy to make X (separate, single target only) attacks within your bullseye arc. You may only assign energy if this card has 0 energy."

I was thinking you wanted it to be able to slag all the ships in the bullseye firing arc with slug fire for each energy spent. If you meant one attack per energy you could re-word it thusly:

Spend one or more energy from this card to perform this attack. For each energy spent, you may perform an attack against an enemy ship inside your bullseye firing arc. You may allocate energy to this card only if it has 0 energy tokens assigned to it.

"Star Blazers. Now that's a name I have not heard in a long time."

Nice! Just to be a fuss and further simplify the wording:

Attack: spend one energy from this card to perform this attack against a ship inside your bullseye firing arc. You may perform this attack multiple times per round. You may not allocate energy to this card if it already has 1 or more energy tokens.

I think @Kieransi's version is the best wording. Concise and explicit and the most FFG like.

The B6 Prototype, pride of the Mon Calamari engineer Quarrie, had been wreaking havoc against Imperial garrisons throughout the Mid Rim. On this given day, it hypered in with a Rebel shuttle (who would provide an escape for the fighter after it fired) to a backwards planet with only a single Raider-Class Corvette in orbit around it. So remote was this system that apparently the corvette didn't even have a fighter escort.

"I was hoping for at least another Arquitens" said the gunner.

"Looks like this will be an easy day for us" said the pilot.

The B6 brought itself in line with the cruiser and started the protocols to power up its powerful composite-beam laser cannon. The small speck of the Raider's outline seemed to grow smaller. It was turning to face the intruders.

"Brave Captain on that ship" the pilot said smiling.

"He obviously doesn't know what he's dealing with" the gunner replied.

Just then, a warning light activated on the pilot's HUD. The computer was telling him that he was being fired upon by starship grade weaponry.

The pilot rerouted power to forward shields. "Hold on, they're shooting at us. At this range it has to be turbolaser fire. It'll be easy to dodge. Keep working on your firing solution".

"Roger" replied the gunner.

Just then the B6's forward scanner started to blossom, the single blip of the raider turning into a swarm of objects.

"What in the-"

The pilot never got a chance to finish his remark as a nearly solid stream of tungsten ripped through the hull of his ship.

Nearby, the Rebel shuttle started to frantically attempt to signal the crew of the B6 as they saw glowing stream of streaks rip through its last known position. Scanners however showed that this was a futile effort. There was no ship, no escape pods, not even enough debris to realize that a fighter had been there in the first place.

"Plot a course for lightspeed" the shuttle commander yelled, not noticing a similar warning light flickering on his console.

"Sir, look!" cried his copilot in an open panic.

The shuttle commander had just enough time to observe a glow out of the corner of his eye before the cockpit and the whole ship was reduced to a few pieces of glowing metal.

On board the Dominator, Grand Admiral Thrawn smiled as the second blip, too small to be seen by the naked eye at this distance, disappeared from the Raider's targeting scopes.

"2nd target confirmed destroyed" the sensor officer reported.

"Inform Grand Moff Tarkin that the Project D.A.K.K.A.* performed exactly as expected".

At the Rebel base on Yavin 4, Hera Syndulla and Jan Dodonna again tried to raise Blade Squadron. Even after allotting for delays due to encryption and numerous relays which diverted the vectors of Rebel communication to help keep the moon base's existence a secret, it became apparent that the prototype and its escort were unable to respond.

"I fear the Empire has found a way to counter our new weapon" sighed General Dodonna.

"I'll break the news to Quarrie." Hera said with a downcast gaze. "He put a lot of trust in me when I asked him to let the Rebellion use his ship. I'm not sure he'll be willing to give us a replacement".

"That may be true" said Dodonna, "but this doesn't mean the end of Project Shantipole. We have a young Mon Calimari Commander who has been studying this design every chance he can get."

General Dodonna punched a few keys on the command console and keyed in a password. A number of crude blueprints appeared; gyroscopic mechanisms, S-foil geometry, wiring and vital circuitry junctures, and even the possibility of adding a third crew member in the cockpit.

"He never got to the particulars of the weapons system, but given time I think we'll see the Blade Wing once again helping in our fight to free the galaxy."

On the subject of big guns on small capital ships, I'd like to mod a GR-75 to add a planetary in cannon:

DUDE! I love this so much. Distance Assault King-sized Kinetic Artillery?! HAHAHAHAHA holy crap this is amazing 10/10

I love how this community looks at a ship with its top covered in turbolaser batteries and goes "Needs more guns".

I love you People.

You wouldn't believe how hard it was to find a suitable K word to precede Kinetic. I didn't think the Empire would go for the 'cool' option of changing a C word to start with a K instead.

HAHA I can imagine! Kyber maybe? Given the eventual first order bent towards the stuff it might make sense that they would fire kyber out of a giant space gatling gun LOL

Directed-Assault Kyber-Kinetic Artillery?

That looks super nice but also... Jebus that thing is going to be shooting volleys the size of tie fighters...

No better way to bring down a ship than with a lot of ship-sized bullets!

I remember the Empire's planetside weapon you could use in space battles in Empire at War. Turns out, it wasn't a terrestrial platform, it was just the Dominator in orbit.
