Nand Torfs (world champion), Justin Phua (world champion), and Chumbalaya (host of the Kessel Run podcast, his first name is Jeremy if I recall correctly. Systems open champion) have all won the right to design their own xwing card. As up to this point only 2 people outside of the designers have had the privilege of designing a card for xwing, I’m very interested to see what they have designed.

Marcel Manzano's card hasn't been spoiled yet either

Which ones were designed by winners and by whom? I seem to recall Stay on Target and Boba Fett were both champion-designed. Were both by Paul Heaver?

Yes. So was BoShek. The first champ, Doug Kinney created the Dash Rendar crew card.

Ive always thought it interesting they do not have an indicator on xwing cards that are designed by champions. Many of their other games have it printed very clearly on the card what player designed the card, and in some cases even what they won.

How many of those winners are on this forum? I know I’ve seen Chumbalaya around here recently. We should ask them if they know anything about this (or are at liberty to talk about it).

Some of them have mentioned it on podcasts at some point. The short answer is that they can’t share very much before the release. I think the largest part of information that we got before the card was spoiled was Heaver saying that he was out of sensible ideas and wanted to create something crazy (it ended up being BoShek).

One of these days I'll figure out something stupid with BoShek.

But really the most amusing thing about him is manipulating your own ships' dials.

Probably a licensing issue.

I know Phua had his heart set on creating Chirrut crew, at least he alluded to as much in post interview.

I think it was in an interview with Paul Heaver where he talked about creating the Boba Fett crew-card, and I seem to recall that he had the idea about making a card that removes an upgrade card and it was the designers who suggested Boba would be a good fit for that ability. Did Justin Phua speak about what he wanted Chirrut crew-card should do?

Anyways, I hope Nand or Jeremy like K-2SO or Obi-wan Kenobi (hint).

Obi-wan Kenobi could be a cool dual-sided crew card (In-the-fless <-> Ghost) with different abilites and perhaps you can only flip from In-the-fless to Ghost.

K-2SO should have some cool co-pilot ability, perhaps PTL as crew?

Oicunn is the best use I've found.

Put him on Oicunn with Inspiring Recruit, Intel Agent, Dauntless, Predator, and ideally COnner Net and EM if you can afford it. Ram people. Profit.

This was at the top of the fat turrets, so he said he approached the designer with the wish to destroy Engine Upgrade.

We also haven't seen the card from the winner of last year's System Open, Piotr Kuc.

And yes, they will not be able to say anything about what their card is or when it'll be out.

Wow! We have a whole host of new players designing cards!

And the topic was more “do we see anything in the recent preview articles that might be a player design?” Than “can you players come tell us what you designed?”.

Im going to have to go squint at the previews to see if anything looks out of place or different from the rest of the inclusions (similar to Boshek being in the Quadjumper expansion).

You could, but it doesn't look like being different from the rest of the pack is common for the specially designed cards. Dash Rendar came in the the Outrider pack, and Targeting Synchronizers in the Upsilon. And BoShek in the Quadjumper and Boba in the Punishing One might seem a little bit out of place, but not more than some of the other cards made by the normal designers (Cad Bane in the Scurrg, Han Solo on the Tantive and Corran Horn piloting an E-wing comes to mind).

I keep wanting to put BoShek on a Phantom shuttle. Pop it out from the Ghost at an unexpected time to ram an enemy.
