I've been losing a bit of interest in the game recently so looking forward to seeing if the FAQ shakes things up a bit.
(Have my fingers crossed for nerfs to the jumpmaster, bombs and TLTs)

So if the leak was accurate;
i think that the fact it was leaked probably pushed it back. They probably need to plug the leak and decide whether the playtesters are worth trusting moving forward.
There is also the possibility that Disney is taking its sweet time approving the FAQ after the leak as well.
Also, I miss taking over super negative threads with breakfast memes.

Guns for Hire is taking its own eternity, as well. I have little/no desire to play until GfH and the potential FAQ as a nice shakeup of the status quo.
I'm not sure GFH will do anything, it's all riding on the FAQ to even let the GFH stuff get onto the table.
The rest of the FAQ might assist flying again, but GFH harpoons will make a splash regardless, because? Power creep. Lower cost.

They will see play but I don't think they will revolutionise anything and 'make a splash' (apart from the obvious pun about splash damage). I'm not sure what squads suddenly become viable because of Harpoon Missile that were currently awful with Cruise/Concussions instead?
Well, yeah, Miranda, Nym, etc. don't really fear these more than other missiles, but I do think it's a meta ender for lists that rely on and Biggs/Lowhhrick assistance though. So? maybe any lists that FSR2 held down?
Edited by clanofwolvesSo OCX Radio is planning on doing some Fake FAQ News tonight! Some of the FAQ entries,
reveal bombs have changed to : When you reveal a green maneuver, you may drop a bomb before executing that maneuver
Also new over all game change has been updated: When firing with your primary weapon, and the attacker is in your firing arc, you may add a focus result to your die roll.
Looking for some other Fake FAQ News ideas, (bad ideas encouraged)
Tie Bomber Title: Tie Bomber - when measuring range for reveal bombs increase the effective range by 1.
Tie Fighter Title: Tie Fighter - Choose one Tie Fighter in your swarm. It is the Biggs now. When it dies choose another Tie it is the new Biggs now. Bomb damage can only destroy one Biggs per turn.
Whisper Title: +2 Pilot Skill. PS11 4life
Imperial Firespray Title: Cannons may be fired from the rear arc.
Tie Striker Title: Add a Crew Upgrade
Decimator Title: Add 12 Hull

I feel like your heart is in the right place, but these have to be FAQ changes, not new cards..... I sense great power in you though!

They have a hard job. If they do it "right", which is impossible, somebody is unhappy because their favorite build gets beats consistently by somebody else's favorite build. And the game is considered broken. If they make something OP or something gets through playtesting and turns out to be OP or meta breaking or meta defining, more players are upset, but different ones, and call the developers hacks.
It's obvious from all the "fix" threads that we have some awesome game designers on these forums. Maybe they should apply to FFG so they can show everyone how it should be done.
BTW, if it's not obvious, this was meant to be sarcastic.
IMO there is 3 problems with FFG at the moment:
- No/bad communication with the players. Saying they are aware of X or Y issues or announcing the fixes that are being tested. Taking general players opinions about possible changes or explaining the philosophy behind them. They are awefully silent and i dont believe it's good in a gaming business thats constantly evolving.
- Way too slow to adress issues. Im not just talking about balance here. They release products and it's only months later that a FAQ comes out to resolve potential problems that were evident from the first preview (ex: Kylo/Maarek, Genius/Ions, Minefield mapper/extra ammo, etc).
- That one might be open to debate but IMO it's quite eazy to judge how competitive (broken/DOA) their products will be before they are released. I just dont understand how a pilot like Nym slipped through playtesting or how they did not think a combination Lowrisk/Biggs would be problematic or how a Palp/defender nerf might prevent the faction from being competitive, etc.
All correct. It won't change though. That's the state of things that you accept when you buy into an FFG game.
And on the flip side, how many things have the players flipped out over turned out to be nothing in terms of competitive play?
Just now, Sithborg said:And on the flip side, how many things have the players flipped out over turned out to be nothing in terms of competitive play?
That's so hard to judge because 'the players' are largely complete idiots who will run around and set themselves on fire at the very thought of something new. You should always begin by completely ignoring what 90% of people are saying about anything, then try to hone in on the 10% who are actually able to dress themselves in the morning, or don't have to use plastic safety scissors.
That's what makes any sensible discussion impossible here, because the idiots run around creating so much noise and giving so much ammunition to the reasonable people on the other side that they just ruin the whole thing for everyone.

FAQ: When a small ship is destroyed, each ship at Range 1 suffers 1 damage. When a huge ship is destroyed each ship at Range 1-2 suffers 2 damage. We are all popcorn Zs now.
FAQ: All ships with shields add the re-enforce action to their bar.

Today, I don't see any X-Wings, in a game called X-WING. \_(ツ)_/
You see them today, too, even in the same list!
Being realistic, there never was a point to non-Biggs X-Wings to begin with, they were inferior (to TIE Fighters) from the start. The only reason they saw play anyways was Biggs and a lack of options (with Y-Wings being even weaker as ICT, at least more than one, is not very strong and dead when you consider the large base exception). When the B-Wing dropped, it was relegated to one last hurrah as a one point saver (XXBB) and never touched again.
I'm hoping that the delay on the FAQ is do to a realization that they've "done it again" with Nym. It's pretty obvious that the Jumpmaster was a colossal mistake. Nerfed R4 with the timing chart, nerfed deadeye with hard errata, ditto for Manaroo and it still needs work. Then they turn around and make the exact. same. mistakes with the Scurrg. Too many upgrades for too cheap. Here's hoping they address the current problem for once instead of the one from 6 months ago.
"Trust me, I'm a professional." Doesn't hold a lot of weight with me. I'm not going to say that I personally could do a better job designing the game and certainly the vast majority of the forums probably couldn't either. But there are some here that could do a better job.
For example, when the TIE Defender titles were spoiled there was some brief hand-wringing about Tie/D and Ruthlessness or other insanity and then MajorJuggler comes in and says the X7 Defender is the best jouster the game has ever seen. Guess who was right.
.......oh, and let's not remember, the K-Wing is hot right now and it's been out of stock and getting 2X it's retail on Ebay and Amazon, so don't you guys think FFG wants to sell the mess out of the new reprinted K-Wings that are "on the boat" before they let the rest of the FAQ out that could potentially take her down from her OP pedestal? I mean, that would make the most business sense.

wellllll since the kwings have the updated slam text. That would be difficult.

SOTL with another accurate hot take.
I was surprised about all of the hype around the expac until I realized the hype was coming from filthy casuals. Aside from loading up a handful of Cartel K-Fighters with Cruise and GC, not much in the box is useful, competitively speaking.

Yeah, @Stay On The Leader is usually spot on; you too....but I'm thinking the release of Harpoon Missiles subjectively ends Biggs as a safe tourney squad list member, which has been a long time coming, he's had the longest run at/near the top as far as I can see.
