Naming Your Campaign?

By Underachiever599, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

So, I see it pretty often when I'm browsing the FFG forums, and I see various PbP campaigns running. Most of them typically have some sort of interesting name. So, out of curiosity, does anyone name the campaigns they run IRL? To me, it just feels really thematic to have a neat name for your campaign, like "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," "Star Wars: Rebels," "Star Wars: Droids," and "Star Wars: Ewok Adventures"

Personally, I really want to come up with a neat name for my campaign (Especially since I've been running it in "seasons" with each game constituting a single "episode"), but I really suck at naming things.

Yes I usually name my campaigns, if they are the structured kind, where I have a general direction I want the players to go in. If it's a sandbox kind of game, where I let the PC's decide where we go, I probably wouldn't name it.

Same, but I don't get good names in.

I've named each of my seasons so far, but I'm still at a loss when it comes to naming the campaign as a whole. The first season of my campaign was all about two bounty hunters, a smuggler, and a makeshift assassin droid hunting down a stolen holocron, hopping from planet to planet in pursuit of the artifact and the person who stole it. At the end of the season, they learned that the one who made off with the holocron was a surviving Jedi, Byph, which is where the game ended. Season 2 is going to focus on this surviving Jedi, and the resurgence of the Jedi Order (In addition to this Jedi, there were six others that survived Order 66, escaping the Jedi Temple during the purge with the assistance of Jedi Master Tera Sinube).

Does he always call a guy named Mick Fly a chicken? :D

As to how to name campaigns, it can be tricky, if you are trying to keep some mystery to it. If you are too specific with the name, it might tip off your players as to what is going on. But if it's too vague, it doesn't really make thematic sense.

How about The Hyperspace Chronicles ? It's very general but it's Star Warsy I think.

I've finally named my campaign. "Ba'lael's Best and Brightest". The party is in the employ of a Devaronian Crime Lord named Ba'lael. They've proven themselves to be his best assets over the course of the last season, and even if they shake off their obligation to him during Season 2, he'll still be a major character throughout the campaign.

My campaign was called Star Wars: Dark Age of the Republic.

The Republic, Sith and Eternal Throne empires from the Star Wars The Old Republic game had their fights, the Eternal Throne was beaten, and the dust settled for the time being. However, general mistrust and the costs of rebuilding and flaring hostilities and systems separated from the Republic, further lowering its resources and increasing the pressure, while the Sith crumbled into warbands. Basically, I opened up my possibilities to do with the setting whatever I pleased, and tried for a darker, grittier tone (kind of like Rogue One before I ever saw that) with the aftermath of a galaxy-wide war still being felt after centuries.
