I don't get to play competitively, but I'm surprised to see so many decklists with no Fast Hands. So is Fast Hands officially dead? Is the specter of Rend that powerful?

I'm very interested to hear why there seems to be so little faith in the card now.

Well, it's certainly been on the decline since the errata. While I think Rend is likely part of the reason (but that is at least a 1-1 trade), I think another major reason is that less characters likely want to use it.

It's not particularly beneficial for many of the new characters - Sabine and Cad essentially have built in Fast Hands with Ambush weapons, so don't really need it. Most of the others don't get especially huge benefits out of it, either having fairly weak dice (e.g. Bazine) or at least some modified sides that makes it less attractive. (Also, Thrawn/Unkar is popular, and I think it's probably less useful for Unkar in that than it was previously).

There's also the fact that there's simply more competition for slots now, so it's probably got to serve more of a specific purpose rather than just being an auto include.

Aurra Sing is probably one of the best options to use it still...

Aurra Sing, Jyn Erso, and Jango Fett are really the main ones that could benefit from it the most, and you really don't see them.

Yeah, it is yellow only now. If it was still any character it would see a lot of play. It is also lucked based, so it is limited by that, and it fills one of the 3 valuable upgrade slots. I am sure a few Coercions have been played on Rend removing the Rend's players own fast hands.

True, she can abuse even more with FH.

Also, any characters with big number, weak to mitigate, will benefits from FH:

IG-88 3 ranged

Jin discard

Lando 3$ or 2 discard

I saw both sabine and IG with FH recently - Sabine was just playing thermal det, have 1/3 chance to roll that special, and bam - another Poe...
And IG was even more brutal, just one 3 hit, then some focus or other stuff to trigger that special and bam armour, another, shield - without vibro he was next to immortal.

Sabine with a thermal detonator and fast hands, can be rather mean...

Sabine looping Ambush weapons is also really mean.
