Not everything needs turrets. the turret meta is whats making the game not fun, and we need more arc based ships which are fun and useful but also have room for counterplay. The U-wing was supposed to be a mobile crew carrier with a cool mechanic. that mechanic fell short, so i think buffing the mechanic (the turn/extra agility choice) is the solution. Not saying a door gunner isn't thematic and cool, just doesn't seem like what the game or the U-wing needs.
Personally agree with some posters that the best fix is to change the titles flip timing to "at the beginning of the activation phase you may flip this card". Still telegraphs a bit, so arc dodgers have their chance to do their thing, but doesn't force you to tell your opponent what your next 3 turns look like. just choose mobility or defense each turn.
As far as unique upgrades go what about a dropship oriented title or EPT which emphasizes the pilots being cool under fire or refusing to give up? those guys landed on a beach that was half explosions and half imperials, dropped everyone off then flew of and wrecked some ****. that should be reflected in some way. Maybe a U-wing only EPT called "smooth navigator" that lets you discard a stress token if you perform a white maneuver? or perhaps a wookie commandos esq double crew called "Rebel Die-Hards" that let you roll an extra die to each of your rolls if you are the only friendly ship left on the board? that's both thematic and a great way to force your opponent to make choices... kill your ace or whatevers threatening now and ignore the U-wing, or deal with the U-wing while before it buffs late game. thoughts?
