I’m going to use coin capsules. Already use them for Arkham Horror LCG for the random token draw there. Won’t wear the tokens out and don’t feel any different between tokens.

What's is coin capsule precious ?

This image is from Stephan Beal at BGG.

I used this method as well for my clue tokens in my Eldritch Horror game to keep them safe in the bag during random draws.

They work great!

Very nice guys!!

Of course for most of these idea's (having your opponent draw being the big one) most of the stuff requires the guy who wants to abuse the system wanting to use them. but good discussion!

Hopefully there will be a clause in the tournament rules to cover the issue.

FFG should make an official Legion app which tracks score and gives out the random activation.

Y’all need to play with less dickheads, that’s my advice.

Anybody pulling half the stuff mentioned here just wouldn’t be welcome in our 3 local stores. Problem solved.

Here's the thing though, welcome or not regionals+ is open to anyone with the entrance money, and you don't have a choice in opponent.

I started this thread with the intention of discussing what i saw as a problem competitively. If you don't believe it happens search up the xwing worlds before last controversy.

Healthy competition brings top level players, which usually also means big investment in the game, which is good for all of us.

Anyone caught cheating gets disintegrated! It's in the tournament rules/FAQ.

What I would suggest in a tournament situation is to not draw a token as the rules state, but choose a token at random in which I believe the spirit of the rule is suggesting. I've played a lot of magic the gathering and there is often situations where you need to randomly pick/remove a card from a players hands. Typically what we do is lay them all out face down in an order and chose to go left to right or right to left in 1,2,3... etc order. Then we just roll a dice as the true randomization. So if there are 6 tokens line them up and roll a d6. For 5 you roll a d6 and re-roll a 6. 4 is an actual d4. 3 is 1-2=1, 3-4=2, 5-6=3 and then 2 is just even/odd on any dice. I also believe they may go to a system where the active player shuffles the tokens and the opponent chooses a token. But even with that there is way to many ways for an opponent to notice inconsistencies in the tokens with wear and basically choose your next move so I would just get use to making it random with dice rolls.
