EaW Poor quality control?

By Parksy77, in Star Wars: Destiny

Never had any issues with di for Awakenings or SoR. This time round though I am seeing loads of faults on dice.

White flecks of missing colour. Cracking clear sections in the main colour of dice. Then I have noticed my second hounds tooth doesn't appear to have the protective coating on the di, I go to rub what look like a bit of fluff/paper off one of the sides and a quarter of the deal comes away...

Bit disappointing. More so because it is a legendary and FFG will send out a random booster for the fault... glad it isn't something more expensive like an ancient lightsaber!

Maybe the new factory isn't as good as the old one. Dice durability over time has always been a question. Best thing to do is roll those dice with care.

I know for sure that the larger box hasn't helped with the cards. Of my 4 boxes that I have opened and 2 of those boxes have had quite a few packs with majorly warped cards in them. I never opened a pack in the earlier sets with any issues with the cards.

I had two dice defects in SoR (Force Speed + Vibroknife). FS was the plastic of the dice was missing a chunk, which was printed over. The vibroknife was like some flecks between the print and the dice caused the print to blister off small parts.

In EaW, my friend has a pregnant A280 on one side (not sure what he is expecting) and my Kanan has the early stages of middle-age bloat all over.

I got a warped Darth Vader die from the first set. Wasn't real keen on the idea of a booster pack for it. I figure I'll give it to a kid at the local store one day. They will just be happy to have one.

Well im guess im some kind of lucky cause after opening 2 boxes, and shtload of boosters im yet to find any faulty dice. But i have seen one vader's dice that is warped true. Guess its just a normal random thing, shame the replacement is just a random booster. But if thats just a minor crack, or misprint i would not bother and play it normal.

You weren't keen on the idea of a free booster pack? ... What? You don't have to send them the damaged dice.

I've pulled one die with a major fault (my first fault of any kind across three sets) but it's only Temptation so I'm too cut about it. Big chip out of one face though.

I'll give it to a kid and he'll enjoy it for years. Sounds better than a 3 dollar booster

I'm not sure it is any worse. My first box of Awakenings had a die with a big hole in the middle of one of the die faces on my first Survival Gear, which is kinda sad as I do like that card. But was also happy because the replacement booster I was sent had a Holdout Blaster... so all was good.

I've had no further problems so far.
(Aside from getting the same 3 legendaries in each of my 3 boxes... do we know if they do r1 / r2s and l1/l2s? Cause this was ludicrous... no one wants 3x LR1Ks.)

this thread would be so much better with some pictures!

I've opened several packs with cards that were warped. Luckily, I haven't noticed any defects on dice.

(no pics :P )

I am really liking the idea of just buying singles right now.
