Open beta, looking for playtesters

By Autosketch, in X-Wing

Hi everyone!

I was looking for some assistance. You see, I need more data, and I was hoping to assemble a group of people who might try and break a gametype with me. A few weeks back I started building a mod ruleset for X-wing, that is based off the game but has a much ddifferent focus. If X-wing is Texas hold'em, this would be 7-card stud, same cards, different game.

Empire vs Rebels, you've got 4 ship types in your hangar. And everything moves differently than you may be used to.

The game should be fairly straightforward to learn, but I need to assemble a wider playtest and really try to mess with it. Specifically, to expose loopholes or cheap tactics, so I can close them for the next edition.

Now the rules can seem unusual, and sometimes very different in terms of priority from X-wing, the most important thing at the end is if you can answer yes to "Did I feel like with better moves I could have won" and "Was it fun". I also really wish to try and keep this game as uncomplicated as possible, so, it's a fine balance.

If anyone is looking for a fun alternative game to play at home or on Vassal, I would be much obliged if you would be willing to give this newest version a go and pass on your thoughts!

thanks!

Not volunteering, but I just wanted to say that this looks excellent. Great effort; this has clearly been thought about.

I am very interested in playtesting and have all next week off work on holiday.

Looks interesting!

Looks interesting indeed... Not sure I've got time to test it, but I'm certainly curious. @citruscannon Do you feel your beta captures more of the feeling of the movies, the old X-Wing/TIE Fighter sim games, or something new?

I actually saw this a few weeks ago when you posted it, and have been wanting to give it a try, so count me in. I'll pass on any experiences I have with it. Now I just need to find someone in my area willing to try it out with me.
