And for anyone else interested in joining, we now have 2 clone trooper slots left over.
Clone Wars pbp Anyone?
I'll finish and post my sheet once I get home been busy all day.
Sounds good to have Shaak Ti as his de-facto mentor. I'm thinking a human aiming towards the Consular career for the leadership-aspect.
Here is the gist of it. Let me know if that would work for you.
Starting xp: 110 + 10 for dropping duty to 0
Stats
- Brawn 3 @ 30 xp
- Will 3 @ 30 xp
- Presence 3 @ 30 xp
Talents FSE:
- Grit @ 5 xp
- Uncanny Senses @ 5 xp
- Toughened @ 10 xp
Force Powers:
- Sense @ 10 xp
Starting skills:
- Discipline
- Vigilance
Free non-career Human skills:
- Leadership
- Lightsaber
What kind of equipment would a padawan start with? Concealing robes, I assume? A lightsaber? Jedi Utility Belt?

Yes to the jedi utility belt and robes, and you'll probably be issued items like comlinks etc by the Republic later on. Regarding the lightsaber I was actually going to ask whether you would want to start with one, or there can be a mission at the end of training for you to get your crystal and make it yourself. Sort of the equivalent of the clones citadel test.
I think, if it's all the same to you, that I would prefer to start with a lightsaber. I'm not sure a special mission focusing on one character would be very much fun for the rest of the players. It is also more in line with the fluff, Padawans should already have crystals and sabers by the time they are assigned a master. So it would make sense for my character to have already found a crystal and crafted his own lightsaber.
I'll get a sheet to you ASAP.

Ok, sounds good to me!
The background for the padawan sounds great to me. Cool idea. Being under the supervision of the local Jedi representative in kamino would be a given, I would say, but if they are going after an experimental training program they might not train you much, even if the Jedi would give you nudges in the right direction. And training in some of the weird stuff of their tradition. "Go out and discovered things for yourself" sounds like a cool even if somewhat dangerous experwnt in the Jedi temple. No idea how that would impact character ability development though, since I do not have force and destiny. I would expect a starter Padawan to wipe the floor with basic troopers if he wants to, being more powerful et al.

I was thinking that the Padawan would take part in some of the training while also being given jedi based training while clones were doing specialist training. Also the game has been structured to balance out force users vs regulars, so for a force user to be truly lethal, it takes a lot of xp investment.
Exactly. If anything, Force-Users are less potent than very focused combat characters, but mostly the balance in the game is just fine. With the clones in armor with rifles, specialist weapons and good training, they will be much better at killing stuff than my padawan. Which is just fine, since he's there to lead

A medic or vanguard sound great, but bear in mind that you only get 1 free specialization, and a second if/when you choose to take it will cost additional xp. Just been over your sheet and it looks good for the most part, but there are a couple of changes needed. At this moment you wouldn't have gunnery or piloting as a career skill, and unless my maths is off your total spent xp 110, while the starting xp is 105. Did you add to it using your duty?
I know that it'll cost XP later to have a second specialization. Gonna start with Medic first.
As for the discrepancies, I used OggDude's Character Creator to track XP.
105 XP as base, 30 each for leveling Agility, Willpower, and Intellect to 3. That's 90 XP spent, 15 left.
Went on the Recruit tree and picked up Second Wind for 5 XP and Vehicle Combat Training for 10 XP. That's the 15 XP spent and that's why Gunnery and Piloting (Planetary) are career skills. If you like, I can shift that 15 XP somewhere else.
Also, how much duty is everyone getting at the beginning: 5 or 10?

Assuming we reach the full number of members, it'll be 5 duty each, but at the moment it would be 10. The rest looks good so I think you're set to go! Ideally we will get another two players, but if not we have an alright number if waiting takes too long.
Hi, I haven't done pbp before but I like the Clone Wars setting.
Character wise I play CT-8128, a clone who likes to mess around with technology (gadgeteer).

Alright this is my sheet so far, Since the Republic is issuing armor and weapons what do I list as Armor and can I list aa Z-6 Rotary cannon as his weapon of choice? It was allowed in the Practice arena's in Kamino so I think it would work?
http://swsheets.com/c/rbzpj6dcw-ct-9182
I went with Keeping the Duty up high at 10 and I took Combat Victory I felt It would make sense for the personality I was going for with CT-9182. I spent almost all my XP on Stats, I have 5 XP remaining.
3 Brawn and 4 Agility, everything else is a two.

You can list it, but all clones will be training with a variety of weapons throughout. And your sheet looks good to me! I think that is all current members pretty much sorted!

Ok will do, now we wait for two more Clone troopers?
Do we have to chose equipment, or we will be issued it?
Reading on Duty now.
At the start you will have no gear until it is issued or you guys request it, and I think we have time to wait for the other two yeah
What are the stats on the standard armor we are wearing though?

Okay, good. Need me to fill out Duty and Motivation at this point, or would you like for me to wait on it?
Oh right, I'm going to say that rookie armour provides the same defence as regular armour, so I'm going to say encumberence 4, hard points 3, defense 0 and soak 2.
If everyone wants to begin choosing their motivations and duty they can, as each one will probably be different to the others anyway.
Alright, I present Anler Tar, a 17-year old Human Jedi Padawan who is fresh off the shuttle at Kamino. Link to SW Sheet here.
I opted for a split duty, meaning when our duty increases, each of the two duties he has advances half as much. Both start at 0 (I neeeeeed the xp!) but if, say, we all got +5 duty I would get +2.5 to each.
Other than that, it should be pretty self-explanatory. I only picked one Force Power, but plan to take more in play. I may still role-play certain aspects of powers I do not yet have, such as trying to move stuff with his mind but only succeeding in getting a slight tremble out of whatever he's trying to do. When his training progresses, I will purchase the powers.
Edited by KymrelAll sounds pretty good to me! Should be an interesting group so far I think.
Still looking for two clones, to complete the squad? I probably don't really need to join another pbp right now, but...
- What is your anticipated post rate?
- Are you hosting the game here on the forum?
It will be on the forum, and I would like to see ideally once a week posting from players. This would be key to combat moments, but less so in social where players can cover for each other. Obviously real life happens and that can't be avoided, so I am flexible around that. If you decide that you'd interested in joining let me know!
I'm hoping you are planning to host the game at the Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game sub-forum? It's much easier, it won't bother others as much and it will be easier to find the threads.
