Opening Salvo

Between these two, definitely the first one because the MC30S is always the inferior option. More forgiving, yes, but ultimately inferior.

I like your idea in that one, but I think you really want Admonition. Admo gives you a chin, whereas right now you really kind of don't have one.

What about dropping the JF/RLB on one of the GR75s, swapping two YT's for X-wings, and using the saved points to buy Admonition? That gives you a fast-enough pair of escorts, two YT's with that JF drop, and still enough points for the title.

My knee-jerk reaction to ExRax on an MC30 is NOOOOOOOO, but I can see the value in conjunction with stacking H9's. Cool idea, I'd be interested to see how this works for you.

But fix them objectives. Most Wanted/Hyperspace Assault/Solar Corona. You can swap in Advanced Gunnery for the red if you're as sick of MW as I am, but MW is the most competitive option. Opening Salvo looks great on paper for the MC30; the problem is that in most scenarios, you'll come out with hull damage on most, if not all, of your ships, which really hurts your MoV. There are shrimp fleets that it works for, but this isn't that fleet. PIC is not the objective you're looking for.

Very strong Idea. Think dropping one YT for the titles?

Foresight is a little more situational than Admonition, imo. I think you'll probably get more value out of the extra deployment from having both of those squadrons in there than from Foresight, but it's kind of down to your preference.

Here's the thing, though: Mon Mothma + those double evades dramatically reduces your vulnerability to squadrons. So you can get away with running exceptionally lean on your squadon cover. For a long time I ran it squadronless, though I think you probably need at least a minimal defense now to deal with Sloane matchups.

So, you would probably be okay dropping some squadron cover if you had something really important you wanted to pay for, but since I don't really see anything glaring that you want, I think you're probably good here.

I think the title really does help.

I may also try this variation:

I like it! Yeah, I consider Lando to be the third MC30 title. :)

Really the only thing this build leaves me wanting is SFO. Particularly if you don't have a lot of experience flying MC30's--but even if you do--they're invaluable flexibility. I assume you have a tactical plan that involves both jamming fields, but if not, consider dropping one to pay for SFO on the two Landoless shrimp.

I've got two torpedo MC30's in my list in another thread like yours with OE and H9's, but I'm considering ACM instead of external racks for my two MC30's. Is it better to have ER over ACM and then use the extra points for things like Lando and SFO?

Depends on the rest of the list and what you're using them for. In broad generalities:

ACM is far and away the better choice for attacking large ships, particularly when they are likely to have ECM to mitigate your best rolls through H9. It is also a good choice against any small ship with redirects, though will have trouble bringing the one-shots. Generally a good choice if you have a long-threat-range follow-up splash damage to finish off those almost-dead CR90s and Raiders; otherwise, ACM will suffer against MSUs relative to the other options.

ER is likely to help you one-shot a small ship, once, and has the added bonus that you can apply it to one really critical squadron shot instead if you really want to. The catch is, it's use-and-burn. Sometimes it won't matter, but I personally don't like it on the MC30 because I'm always going for double arcs. With triple-stacked H9's, though, I could see pushing some appreciable damage through ECMs.

H9/APT has a good chance to one-shot most ships lighter than an GSD consistently, and can force your opponent to make some suboptimal decisions based on the uncertainty of what crit you will pull. It trails ACM in overall effectiveness against larger ships by an amount roughly commensurate to their cost difference. Note that if you're bringing Dodonna, APT is the right answer 100% of the time.

To keep it short ;)

You are a bold one.

I like it.

Also, I just noticed that Grievous has six fingers. Nice touch.

the other thing I toy with is dropping the 2 A wings and adding Dash, because I LOVE the look on peoples faces when they think that CR90 or raider is gonna get away and here he comes in to "Dash" their hopes at the last minute...

(see what I did there?)

:)

Another scary thing I was testing was a torpedo MC30 with Ackbar, OE, Enh Arm. , SFO, and ER. At close you get 3 red, 2 blue, and you can SFO to CF a black and pop ER for 6 blacks that you can OE....11 dice isn't too bad for a one-time....lol.

I dont think it is a coincidence that that is the exact armament of a Kuat refit ISD.
