I'm still new in xwing and i'm trying to build an ion control list. I'm thinking maybe 2 hwk with palob and torkil, and a thug with btl, any suggestion?

Pirates act as blocker and zap, while both hwk do their ability and ion plus stress
HWK die pretty fast. Y-Wings with Ion Cannon Turrets, either with or without title, are a bit better. That said, a HWK isn't that much worse if you don't have enough Y-Wings. If you are using HWKs, Torkil Mux is the best, and while Palob can be good in some lists, it's probably fine to just use a Spice Runner to free up points. Dace Bonearm is kinda too expensive.
Something which pairs great with Ion control are big blockers. It'd be possible to go 2 or 3 Y-Wings with 1 or 2 Contracted Scouts (generic Jumpmaster 5000). Great upgrades for a scout include Adaptability (PS decrease to match PS2 Syndicate Thugs), Intimidation, Intelligence Agent, Burnout Slam, Feedback Array, Ion Projectors, Anti-pursuit Lasers. A lot of those share the same slots, so it's more of an issue of which ones you have (or are willing to proxy--it's great when learning lists to just proxy upgrades in casual games), and which ones you like to use. Now that I think about it, the R5-P9 droid which comes with the Jumpmaster is also fairly solid on a blocker. A Contracted Scout has the marvelous large-base barrel roll, and blocks off a huge chunk of space. On 2 agility and 9 hit points, they're fairly tanky, too. One of them probably can take as much punishment as three Z-95s.

I find you get one; maybe two rounds before torkil is focused fired to death.

Thanks, using bumpmaster as blocker seems great
