Some General Questions

By Bocks, in Twilight Imperium

After skimming the rules and faction sheets, I had these questions:

Guild Ships

Can the Hacan Player be negotiated with on another player’s turn even if they are not neighbors?

Munitions Reserves

Can the Letnev player reroll Anti-Fighter Barrage as well as Combat Rolls when using Munitions Reserves?

Is there a limit to how many rerolls the Letnev player can buy in a single round of combat using Munitions Reserves provided he has the Trade Goods to spend? (This one seems pretty clear as it says spend 2 get 1)

Foresight

Can the Naalu player select a previously activated system to retreat to using Foresight?

Peace Accords

If there are two planets in the same system and the Xxcha player controls one of them, is the second planet considered adjacent for the purpose of using Peace Accords ? (This one seems obvious, but I’m just checking)

Letani Warriors/Assimilate/Reclamation

Can the Arborec player produce in Step 5 (Production) of a Tactical Action with his Infantry even if they have participated in an Invasion the same turn?

Can the L1Z1X player produce in Step 5 (Production) of a Tactical Action where he wins Invasion Combat with a Space Dock on the defender’s side? When does Assimilate take place? After Step 4 or Step 5?

Can the Winnu player produce in Step 5 (Production) of the Tactical Action in which he gains control of Mecatol Rex and places Space Dock? When does Reclamation take place? After Step 4 or Step 5? (This one seems pretty clear as it says after the Tactical Action is resolved)

Indoctrination

Is there a limit to how many times the Yin player can convert enemy infantry using Indoctrination provided he has the Influence to spend? (This one seems pretty clear as it says spend 2 get 1)

Guild ships: the way we've played it is that any active player can deal with the Hacan, neighbors or not. But we didn't allow the Hacan to deal with any non-active player.

Letani warriers: as bewildering and broken as that seems, yes, there appears to be no rule stopping the arboric from using their GF's production ability as part of the tactical action, combat or no. The same appears to apply for the Clan of Saar's spacedock. It's pretty wicked as far as our group thinks so far (we've only managed two games). I'm very curious to see what other folks are going to say as they start playing as more of the game gets shipped out and played more. Having played 3rd edition so long, it just seems broken by comparison. Would not be surprised if there was some kind of errata. At the very least, I think you'll start seeing it get house ruled. But who knows? It's a dynamic, interesting game.

winnu reclamation: I seem to recall elsewhere folks saying they gained the dock "after the tactical was resolved." ie, i think most people are reading that as "resolved=done=no chance to build"

TI3's Arborec read great on paper, you could just imagine their GFs seeded everywhere then producing everywhere exponentially until the whole galaxy, or at least their slice of the pie, was covered in green. Figuratively, they could use any minioature color.

In practice the fact that they could choose to either move or produce with GFs made them crippingly slow and one of the worst races in the game. What happened in practice is that you chose two or three planets, massed GFs there and then produced from there, because you didn't have CC/resources/time to set up significant production ability everywhere you wanted, especially on contested borders.

Now that they can immediately move their production front with them and at least set up something on a newly conquered perimeter, their ability seems to be, well, broken on reading but honestly I believe we will find it's been upgraded to just relevant. Remember that it's still the one single trick up their sleeve and it's limited by what they can actually afford.

As for the Winnu card, yeah, after the Tac Action has been solved, as printed on the card itself. I read it as after everything has been done, even the Production Step.

An unclear statement

Thanks for the replies.

You've confirmed what I was thinking.

I agree with vidyaraja , the Letani Warriors look to be upgraded to relevant.

Now if the game would just get here! :-)
