Sunderer-Class Suncrusher. What would happen if the First Order modernized the design?

By Refugeanoth, in X-Wing

In the absence of a size reference for these images, I am going to assume since it is a First Order redesign that it is at least 2km wide on its short side...

and it need to have Mega in the name.

It would be like the original sun crusher, except ten times bigger...

Hey, it avoided tractor beams too!

Yes, I recently reread the trilogy to see how it held up (spoilers: It does not), and 3P0's golden buttplug dodged tractors TWICE: Once while it killed a Star Destroyer all by itself (by flying right through it), and once while Stupid Jedi Kid was on his attack run to kill a planet.

So, yes, completely invincible.

Not like another named superweapon in this thread that was killed by a ragtag group of obsolete ships, a former garbage trooper, and a past-his-prime smuggler...

I assume it did that while being flown by kyp?

So if I don't have either of those upgrades, it's a no-win scenario for me?

In my squadron and my campaign, we've had scenarios we've been unable to "win" in the traditional sense. Sometimes you just need to pick the best way to lose until you find a way to win.

even in a universe of 2-D dogfights and space wizards, this ship defied any suspension of disbelief. easily the stupidest thing in all of star wars next to Force Awakens

Which makes it an excellent target for destruction!

The Star Destroyer killing one was done by Han. I guess it PS-dodged the Star Destroyer?

I don't believe in the No-Win scenario.

Dang, wrong IP. . .

Hey, there was a Hutt deathstar ^_^

better.

Large space station with gun... plausible.

small invincible ship that does whatever it wants and blows up whatever... not plausible. it was designed by a child with a power fantasy.

you cant type "PowerOverwhelming" into your spaceships command console for godmode

It's kinda like certain Star Trek things.

There was the Doomsday Machine from TOS with its invincible neutronium armour.

And there was Soren's starkilling missiles from the Generations movie.

This is basically those two traits, put on one small ship.

Didn't help that it was also created by Kevin Anderson...Y'know, the guy who created the Sun Crusher...

For pretty much anything in the Star Wars universe that makes you roll your eyes as soon as you hear it, your odds are pretty good betting on Kevin Anderson. He's not the only one who came up with ridiculous ideas, but he certainly contributed a good deal of them.

True. This makes me kind of sad, since his non-Star Wars works are fantastic.

Some people just want to watch the sun burn
