what's the difference between "Pistol" "Basic" "Heavy"?
I also noticed some weapons weights are also considered "light" 45kg for instance when a player can carry 60-75 or more, so, what do they do precisely?

You know, there is such a little-known book - Dark Heresy Second Edition Core Rulebook (very insignificant book, without which you just can't play this game, nothing special). On the one of the pages of this book - in the (surprisingly!) Chapter V: Armory - in the (suddenly!) Section: Weapons - you can find all the definitions of weapon characteristics.
