Visiting Detroit: Where to play?

By Pewpewpew BOOM, in X-Wing Organized Play

Hello X-Wing gamers of Motor City,

I've never been out to your neck of the woods bit will be at a conference for work 10/14-10/18.

Not sure where my hotel is just yet; will probably have nights free. Joined the MI FB group but did not see a lot posted there.

Any help is appreciated.

Depends on exactly where you are and when you're free.

There's a no uniques / no duplicates tournament scheduled for Stomping Grounds in Chesterfield, MI on Oct 14th, noon start.

Eternal Games in Warren MI runs Friday night X-wing (usually 3 rounds, $5 buy-in) every Friday at 7 PM -- very consistent and well-attended.

Gamer's Gauntlet in Clinton used to have a Tuesday night group (I've heard that may have evaporated -- I never went); GOB in Clawson used to have Thursdays (also poorly attended, probably gone).

Get Your Game On Pontiac and BC Comix in Fenton both occasionally do Sunday afternoon things.

Other game stores in the metro area probably have events or regular gatherings but I don't frequent them except for Store Championships -- you'll have to check individual store websites and Facebook pages: RIW Hobbies in Livonia, Get Your Game On Ann Arbor, Mike's Comics New Baltimore, Imperium Games (once X-Wing friendly but I've now heard under new ownership), Pandemonium in Garden City, Destiny Games in Westland, and Fun4All in Ypsilanti.

If you're on the X-Wing Michigan Facebook group, just post a closest location and "Looking for X-Wing" post and you may get some responses.

Pandemonium in Garden City as has a large X-Wing presence. Let us know where you are and you will find someone wanting to game some.

Someone needs to correct the RIW it is in Livonia, not Fenton.

In Detroit area, it depends on where you are staying. There are places in the North East, South West and North West. I used to play on Friday nights at Imperium Games (formerly Flat Land Games) in Wixom regularly. Haven't been there in several moths though. But just post on the X-wing Michigan facebook group, and we will direct you as best we can.
Most players, from what I understand, are gearing up for the MichiganGT this weekend. So the following weekends may be a little slower.

Thank you for the responses.

Looks like I will be at the Marriot near downtown.

I may be able to get to an LGS on Sunday night or Monday night.

Any suggestions? Any places that are open later?
