Ben kanan deck suggesttions

By jedi moose, in Star Wars: Destiny

So I was trying to make elite Ben and Ackbar work. It was OK but was slow and relied on getting my launch Bay out. If I got launch bay early I won, if I didn't I lost, but just barely. I'm mixing it up to go more straight damage and play a little faster without the supports in the previous deck. Plus kanans ability should speed things up and allow for a free die resolve each turn. I want to get and keep the battlefield if possible. And I'm making Ben a support and damage sponge instead of the main damage dealer. kanan will get most of the weapons and try to go straight agro. I welcome suggestions on the deck below. I'm a casual player though so I'm not expecting to win any tournaments with it. And I don't have force speed or other fancy stuff. Id like to get destiny early and use it to stack some upgrades round 1. A two cost weapon, destiny a 3 cost weapon, another 2 cost weapon round two. Then start crushing stuff. Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you're going eKannan/Obi, and not the other way.

I'd throw in Rey's Saber. One with the Force is always a solid choice when playing Ben, if you have it, especially if you're going to make him soak damage. Riposte is the only card at first glance that I'd replace so far.

I personally am running an eObi/eEzra. I'd like to run Jarrus, but I haven't found a pairing that I like, except maybe Ahsoka. Just haven't run it yet.

Make sure you're playing redeploy weapons (like Rey's Lightsaber, mentioned above) on Kanan, I find that he'll usually get targeted first (especially if you're running eKanan instead of eObi). Get your value out of Kanan, sure, but don't lose it all when Kanan dies! I'm not a huge fan of cards like Bestow, but if you're not going to run Rey's Lightsaber (but you should, it's awesome) it can help keep some of your other weapons in play when Kanan explodes.

I run eObi/Rey and I really like Caution. The shields matter against most decks, and you can always Guardian out or mitigate a Vibroknife die if used against you. I also really like Close Quarters Assault--you're rolling out lots of sticks, so it's easy to hit 3-4 cards and that can really crush someone's plans. Sometimes, even getting that last card (Second Chance, Buyout, another thing for FN to throw at you) out of the hand can make a huge difference. Deflect is another good option--it's not always relevant, but when it is, it's really good.

Keeping budget-consciousness in mind, I think the rest of your choices are pretty good.

eChirrut/eKanan is amazing.

I am also beginning to love eLuke/Kanan

Thanks for the ideas. Yes im running ekanan. Don't know why I don't have Reys saber in there. I put it in all my blue decks but somehow missed it. I'll take out lightbow for that. I definitely want the redeploy on that. I dont have one with the force though.

As for riposte I put it in there because I mostly play against my brother and he almoat always includes vibro. I figured It's a good card if vibro shows up, or even if I just need the extra damage. I like the option of turning the shields into damage. But close quarters sounds good too. I'll take a look though and see if I can make some room for that.

I'm tempted to take out my ally is the force because in an all blue deck I'm not sure there will be many times that I have the resources to make use of it. Might be better to put in something like close quarters to take away mitigation options.

Thanks again for the tips so far

One with the force is a staple in any Obi deck due to simple fact that you can play it for free most of the time.
As for eObi/Kanan vs Obi/eKanan...:
With eObi you have 2 power houses - Kanan stacked with upgrades and 2 dice Obi that is very solid on its own. Kill Kanan - you have redeploys to Obi to make him endgame monster or Kill Obi then hes gonna make his sheanigans with Sacrifice and OWTF to make Kanan rather solid endgame.
With eKanan - Kanan has the target painted all over him. Cause if you stack him with upgrades he is too juicy target to pass and if you dont he will die anyway (cause he is still juicer that 1 dice Obi, especially when you know that killing Obi will make his Ghost pop) and then 1 die Obi with upgrades...does not look as scary as his elite counterpart.
