Noob question

By Maim Voorhees, in Star Wars: Destiny

Hello there. I just bout the 2 player set today because I Ann super interested in this game. Right now I have no one to play with but my wife, I’m hoping to find others sometime, but I have a question about upgrades like abilities and weapons, I understand that the colours must match, like red upgrades on red characters, but do names matter? For example, if I was able to have Captain Phasma and another ranged character that was red, could I put Captain Phasma’s blaster on the other character? Or must it go on her? That’s corn the help, I’m trying to figure this out and loving every minute! Not sure about my wife though lol.

Anyone?

Color of the upgrade does not have to match the character (unless the card says it does). You can only include color cards in a deck that has a matching character, however (except grey which is universal). I.e. if you have all red characters, you can only have red/grey cards. But if you have red/blue characters you can have red, blue, and grey cards. Its common to bring a character of another color purely to open up that color of cards to pick from.
Cards will specify if they can only be played on a specific character, otherwise free game (or the inverse where a character will say it can/cant use a card).

Keep in mind though that unique upgrades such as phasma's blaster can only have 1 copy of it in play, even though you may have 2 in your deck (increases odds of getting it). Unless phasma was dead i dont know why you'd ever want it on someone else.

Also, some cards have restrictions on what kind of character they can go on. Currently, there are only two; '<colour> character only' (can only be played on characters of that colour), and 'To play, spot a <colour> character' (In which case you need a character with the particular colour, but it can then be played on anyone). There are currently no restrictions related to names.

Thanks for the replies! Very helpful. And I apologize for the autocorrect errors in my original post.

Watch the tutorial. Then get on YouTube and watch everything on this. You should have a better idea, then when you read the rules a second time it will make more sense.

Unless there is direct restriction on the card (like most blue abilities have) you can play it on any character. Inclusion in the deck is other thing but this was described above.
