A question about Xizor

By Cerve, in X-Wing

"When defending, a friendly ship at range 1 may suffer 1 uncancelled hit or crit result instead of you."

So...may I technically..ok let's get the TLT on Xizor. Just one hit rolled. I miss to cancell that, so another wingman at range 1 will got the hit. But then, the TLT cancell that, but it doesn't hit the defender so...

How is going that? My head hurts lol

He can't pass TLT damage.

What you could do in theory is pass one of the hit results and damage another of your ships, but since the attack still counts as having hit, you'd still take the damage (edit: on Xizor, because of how TLT works, and on the ship that had the hit passed). So all you would have done would helping your opponent outsie of very rare edge cases where you want another ship to get damaged, which I honestly can't conceive using Xizor.

That wouldn't even work. TLT cancels *all* dice, including ones that an ally pulled away.

Mmm it doesn't sounds right for me. Re-reading the rules, I may got the answer by myself. TLT says that "each time this attack hits, the defender suffer one damage". So even if I pass the hit, TLT still "hits" something. At that point, you cancell all the results, and "..the defender suffer one damage".

The defender still Xizor. So you're not going to damage 2 ships. It doesn't matter what you hit, what matters is if you just hit, or don't. If you hit (anyone), you cancell any results and the defender (and there's only one original defender) suffer 1 damage.

Ok thanks, the topic can be closed.

From the FAQ:

If Prince Xizor is hit by an attack with an effect that triggers upon being hit and cancels dice results (such Ion Cannon), he cannot use his ability and must suffer the effect of that card.

Xizor cannot pass over TLT damage.

This is why you don't see xisor or starvipers anywhere. Ps 7 and a good ability that got countered by the most powerful secondary weapon in the game.

...Guess that is why we get the aces kit. Stil not gonna bring xisor to any compedetive games sadly.

Dood, the Prince gets countered by Tractor beams.

factionless tournament, let Xizor pass a hit to Kylo, trigger ISYTDS.

About Xizor, well...he is not bad at all. A PS9 Ace with System slot and the bank barrel rolls is kinda unique. He has an unique pattern of movements, and if only that was the Aces meta, I think I will shine. Think about it: a lot of Aces are monsters in late game, and that's why you want to kill them in early/mid game. But Xizor has an ability that protect him to that. He is an hybrid: he fly in swarm in early/mid game, and he becomes a nimble ace in late game. With the new title he becomes even less predictable (bank b-roll is awesome), and cheaper.

The only real problem with him after Guns for Hire is...well, just the meta. But I think that the Adv. Slam fix will shake the meta. No more Miranda bombers, no more slam bombs on your head, aces will be safe. Nym is great, and still counter them, but is one single "fragile" ship. With Miranda out of the games, I think that Aces will becomes a thing again.

Yes Xizor still suffer the TLT, and that's will be the only real flaw of him...but I still confident into a PS9 bank b-rolls.

Anyway I'm curious about the shake after the Mindlink and Adv Slam faqs.
