I don't quite know what happened there...a double fake claim was just ridiculous. Congrats to scumteam for the win. My fellow townies...I am disappointed in you. Maybe we would have done better without the open setup? I'm not sure.

I think the open set-up helped to show how tough it seemed to be for us to glean info from the posts. ovi was on the right track, for most of the time, and especially towards the end there.
Without the open set-up things would have been more confusing, and you would have had a better excuse for your oversights. With the open set-up, the only things you guys had to look at were long-term issues with posts and behaviorism - like why if Pod was the cop did he act this way day 1? I think that we are now so used to hidden set-ups, and lately crazy ones too, that we have become passive, taking many things at face value and not looking deeper. The open set-up forces us to look deeper, and this game clearly demonstrated that that is something we are deficient in.
It is also
super
easy to make sense of everything from the comforts of the lounge.

Gink didn't know who was who and had JJ pegged dead to rights. My analysis is colored by knowing who was what up front, but it looked to me like you gave JJ way too much slack. He did the exact thing he has claimed to hate: turbo someone because they weren't around. That vote on Mad was very out of character for JJ. That wasn't even your worst offense, though, and for a large part of the game the Scum were playing quite well. I liked JJ's bold counterclaim. It muddied the waters at exactly the right time. Cal managed to work himself into the good graces of even Ovi, who was playing well himself. But Pod on the last day... Ugh... I have no words. Just gutteral sounds if disgust.
Also, JJ, like Cal you have now ruined an excuse for all time. Using real life issues as a defense for why you didn't counter claim cop earlier saved your ***. Mad and I will be policy voting you from here on if you ever say anything like that again
Yeah JJ is seriously boned from here on out.

Its also super easy to use this an excuse.
You disregarded Ovi's posts because you didnt like his writing style. He is spanish and uses slightly broken english. It should be basic analysis not to auto disregard his logic because of style when there is an easy explanation.

This is flat out not true. I tried to understand it. I did not. If I did, I would have followed him.
Stop pushing on this, seriously. This won't get more people to try mafia out.

And as a person of Spanish descent, with lots of family that speak/write the same exact way in English, i'm really rather offended at this Gink.
@ovinomanc3r keep on keeping on it was all my fault.
@Onidsen looking back my "I'm sorry too" post came off as snarky, what I meant was I'm sorry for talking you out of lynching me D1 because that would've probably won the game for you town folks.
And to all the townie haters I think a lot of times it's easier to see stuff from the comfort of an observer lounge armchair.
As far as Ovi's style, I doubt his posts got disregarded for that. And EVERYONE types in sort of broken English. I have a Bachelor's in English and an MFA in Creative Writing and my posts ooze with typos. I can say I've ever discounted the content of his posts because of his English, and if this game was in Spanish you can **** sure guarantee my posts wouldn't be half as eloquent as Ovinomancer's English posts. My hat goes off to anyone speaking their non-Native language.

'You have my ever-ending loyalty'
Speaking of typos. . .
Lol... Just lol... With the double fake claim it was obvious that JJ AND Pod are both scum. And you managed to lynch the only real cop....
I was hoping that if I let the day pass without a vote the scum won't dare to kill the real cop as it would direct attention right at the fake cop. So they would kill me but the real cop has an additional day to investigate someone. It was obvious that the fake cop wouldn't "clear" one of his buddies because if he fails his fakely cleared mate would go next. Yet IC investigated Ninja...
But even then with Pod's fake claim this game seemed sure to be a town win.
Anyway, who's organizing the next one?
Wow that was a mess now that I’ve seen the set up it seems so obvious.... but while knee deep in the bs it’s hard to tell

Haha see!!?
Out of interest @Norell
What was your big reveal going to be before you died? Not that you thought both cops are faking I guess!
Not at all. I wanted you to lynch me so the cop would have an extra turn to reveal a scum. It should have been a walk in the park for the town to win from there. Alas, IC didn't follow my logic.
In the unexpected event of staying alive either the cop would have been dead, meaning the other is the scum, or another townie meaning we could lynch practically anyone but me and the two claimed cops to catch a scum. That would have meant one scum down and the scum sooner or later had to kill the cop revealing themselves.
I am impressed... I can't understand how people were finding the "suspicious" stuff here... me and Norell for trying to avoid a no lynch, then guess what happens when I'm dead? A no-lynch... and how was Pod not lynched???? Had he been the true cop he'd have counterclaimed Impcap, not waited till JJ counterclaimed and waited to see how that turned out... Poor Gnips, every time he GMs town just messes up totally...

Except you know...it was true...I was gone until then. That's just the facts.

I say again, I think you are misreading. My FIRST post after Pod claimed said "well Pod is scum". I never made any doubt about that.

Yeah you cant look at it as simply as one or two town making the mistakes, Each one of you at some point opened a door that the three of us could walk through unchecked, or without enough scrutiny, be it with voting, content or general sleeping on the job. There was so much that we could twist to fit our agenda.
Ovi and impcap where the only two that could threaten us with evidence, so naturally they had to be discredited the hardest.
Maybe Ovi finds the optimal balance of content/writing, Imagery/memes and most importantly maths! the universal language of mafia in the next one, then scum agenda will be like water off a ducks back! =)

Help me on this! Please.
I don't want a masterclass after every post I write but if I make the same mistake several times I will thank a correction.
I am quite sure I overuse subjunctive but that could be cause Spanish overuse subjunctive.

Often it is that you write half a sentence for whatever reason.

When JJ counterclaimed I couldn't be sure. There was weird things about JJ (he suspecting about Ebon but investigating CNinja was one) but Imp had his own.
When JJ counterclaimed I could not be sure because there were wierd things about JJ's interactions with Ebon and Cninja. However, there were wierd things about Imp's play too.
This is a good example. You are quite sure what you want to say so you have broken it into really small phrases which end up being meaningless as they are all incomplete sentences. I've noticed that my graduates do similar things when they are writing about things they are unsure about. So its less your english skills that are the issue, its how they are compounding your slight confusion over what you want to say. It must be hard to do, though it means that it comes across quite apparently that you are not fully commited to your comments and have some doubts, which unfortunately is not helpful for Mafia.
Alright, after reading the observer doc, I also need to point out that you misunderstood my "uncertainty" about Pod and ImpCap being scum. Ovi was the only one I had "investigated" and was 100% sure was scum. I was certain the others would have been 99.99% scum, but I didn't have 100% certainty. Something you need to know me as a person, unless I'm exaggerating, I very rarely use terms of certainty. The logical portion of my brain tries to avoid stating something as fact if I'm not 100% certain. I would have done the same thing if I was actually the town cop. Don't let the effect of having observer knowledge cloud your perceptions. Often I see comments of "he's scum, so he did XYZ. This lets people attribute those actions in the future to scum play, when in fact those actions can also occur when someone is playing town. I think Ebon's advice, of treating each game as a clean slate is great. I don't want to setup a pattern of play, which when I deviate from it, I'm automatically "scum". Many of the arguments I'm seeing in the observer doc are really setups for scum covering their tracks. Saying you will always policy vote "X" only means you can hide behind that when you are scum. The irony of this situation is not lost on me. Especially after Mad being turbo'd, which he admits was scummy, he says he's going to do the same (scummy) action on policy in the future....This will NOT improve town play.

That's the problem! Pod claimed Pod before you said you investigated me. You knew he was scum 200%. With a little piece of empathy you had to agree my plan and vote Pod but which cares about that now? It was fun and I like the open setup. It makes the game more deductive instead of just "I have a feeling".
Can we move on from the English lessons please? I'm interested to know how the next game will work.
Im up for a game off now, I would like to try modding soon as well... naturally i cant guarantee it wont be crazy
Would a more experienced player like a co-mod in the next one so i can pick up a few hints and tips?
