Unlimited Power -- Sourcebook for Mystics
@GroggyGolem good point on Overwhelming, but it does fit the Prophet nicely and, who knows, may support a lower tier talent we don't know about yet. I say it fits the Prophet because it both hinders your opponent and helps you for basically a net 2 Advantage boost to your check, and eliminates the risk of having to use Dark Side points to get the benefit. In that regard, it is a great talent for a low XP character who is adamant on pursuing the Light Side.
Also, I have several face character concepts who rely on their skills and talents for the social aspect and instead invest in Force powers to shore up combat and physical weaknesses, so for those characters, Overwhelming Aura is good. For example, I like the idea of a Arbiter/Prophet combo, but that character doesn't have much support for combat beyond Improved Sunder. So I would rather invest in Move or Bind to disarm my opponent and control combat, personally.
Oh, and this soft-confirms that Thisspissians are a species. The Thisspissian guy in the article is the picture for the Alchemist specialization, so they have to be here.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!1!!!!11111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I loved this article! Mostly because it was actual information about the Mystic book, but still! I'm liking (most) of what I see!
So, to the specs!
Alchemist: The first thing I noticed (besides the misspelling of Resilience) is that we only got three of the four career skills. It makes sense that Medicine will be the last one, but...maybe not? I'm so glad they added Education to it, though. That makes a lot of sense . The Alchemist is still the specialization I'm the most uncertain on; I like the concept, but not only is it the Mystic spec that least fits with my iconic character (aside from the Duelist, obviously), I'm not certain what, exactly, it's going to be doing. I do hope that Alchemical crafting is a thing, and uses a non-Mechanics skill, s that Transmogrify is less useful than Manipulate when doing purely mechanical crafting, but amazingly useful when doing, you know, alchemy .
Magus: I'm both thrilled and a little nervous at this one. I was really hoping it would have two ranks in Force Rating, but the fact that we have a ranked talent that adds Force symbols (and specifically dark ones) is making me uneasy on that front. It still might, who knows! Sage has One with the Universe and two Force Rating ranks, so! Speaking of One with the Universe, though, I was really expecting it to show up in this tree, but now I'm not so sure, which is a bit of a disappointment as well. Especially with how they talk about the Mystic connecting with the Force in ways other careers don't, it would seem strange that no Mystic spec has that talent. I'm also hoping that the full Magus isn't so strongly focused on Dark things. Not that I think the given Conflict talents don't fit (and would even fit with Kemna! Channel Agony is obviously using one's own life-force to generate spiritual energy (everything is One in the Force), which is perfectly fitting), but the confluence of Conflict talents...I hope there's a light-focused side as well, so we can get the balance .
Prophet: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I love it already! Especially because Kem is basically a neophyte Prophet herself. I disagree with the earlier assessments that Overwhelming Aura is useless; I think it's fairly awesome. It loses some maximum potential, but the guaranteed Advantage is nice, and adding a Threat to opposing social checks per committed die shouldn't be underestimated. I can't wait to see what else is lurking deeper into that tree!
YAY FOR MORE INFORMATION FINALLY!!!!!
I bet there will be a light side to the Magus spec simply because of Improved Healing Trance being in the tree. I have always considered that a predominantly Light Side talent since it is one of the signature talents of the Healer spec in Consular. But, if that's correct, it tells me the tree is probably pretty tortuous based on where the three previewed talents sit and to which sides they connect. The question is, what will be the light side equivalent of Channel Agony, assuming there is one. I don't think One with the Universe qualifies since it doesn't guarantee Light Side pips. Supreme Healing Trance, perhaps, so that it triggers off the ranks of Healing Trance likely in this tree?

I would absolutely LOVE One with the Universe and an Improved One with the Universe! But I find that unfortunately unlikely .
From the description I would think the Magus will get some kind of knowledge to Force or vise versa skill.

Yeah. Bet it’s Vurk and Tholothian as well. Not bad, but not overly exciting choices either. Tholothian are basically human and we have so many other more worthy species yet to account for. (We need a canon Miraluka!)

There's not much information on Tholothians, however. There's three, I think, Tholothian characters total (all female, so we've never seen the males), so we know very little about their culture, history, and planet, other than the name of their headdress. They're almost a brand new species to write about, which is neat.
And there are canon Miraluka .

Omfg!!! That’s awesome! Well one Miralukan is better than none!
And yeah, I get that there is a lot we can learn about the Tholothians but personally I would rather something with more of a cool factor. (Thissipians are pretty cool I guess, if they don’t have to be hairy snakes... why are they hairy snakes? Can’t they just be snakes?)

Well, if they were just snakes, they wouldn’t have arms. ?

Lol should have said naga.

Traditionally , Naga don’t have arms either, only human heads. ?
Edited by Tramp GraphicsI've gone from wanting Alchemist to Magus, though I have to wait and see the full tree. Prophet probably works better for me since I'm running a face character, but I so rarely get to actually roll for social checks that I'm starting to think there's no point in pursuing the talents anymore (which really hurts to say, because I've dumped half of my XP into social talents that I never get to use).
If Alchemist's crafting is based on something other than Intellect skills, I may still be in, but otherwise I'm thinking it'll be Magus. Power of Darkness alone is not just a solid gameplay choice for my character, but a solid thematic one.
I am hoping Alchemist is the sort of a lightsaber spec like Arbiter, Sentry, and Armorer? I see Magus and Prophet as more social/pure force classes. All i want is some in class reflect for mystics

Isn't that a Sluissi?
NM- you are correct, that is Oppo Rancisis
Edited by tpasmallI can see the Prophet having the lightsaber ranks too. Arbiter is a social/lightsaber crossover, and it's a nice kind of combo. I'd like to see more talents like Aggressive Negotiations, and Prophet could potentially hold that.

Unless they change something or Prophet has a talent that gives them the Lightsaber skill, it won't. The article lists the 4 skills for Prophet which are all social skills. But it would be awesome if it has a talent like Aggressive Negotiations that is more about inspiring someone than warning them.
Maybe Improved Overwhelming Aura, using a Hard Leadership or Hard Discipline check that downgrades a social check by number of Force dice committed to Overwhelming Aura?
Edited by AeroEng42Ah balls, I read three of the four skills. RIP the dream.

I do note that we were only given three of the Alchemist's four skills. And seeing as the article mentions that lightsabers are created through minor alchemy, it's possible that the fourth skill for the Alchemist is Lightsaber.
We just don't know! I personally expect it to be Medicine, but it's technically possible!
My money is still on medicine too, especially with that Stimpack Specialisation in there. As much as I love the idea of playing an Alchemist given that my character is already known for using drugs and poisons to infiltrate and turn the tables on fights, having an Int of just 2 precludes going down the crafting rabbit hole.
Release date set for 30 June 2018
I can hear @Absol197 dancing for joy about this. You can thank Ghost later
Hopefully we get Miraluka with this book. But, if not...I'll accept them showing up in another supplement (There WAS that Warrior book that's coming out, and historically for all their mysticism the Miraluka aren't slouches when it comes to a fight).

That's undoubtedly Amazon Effect; June 30 is the last day of a quarter, and not even a Thursday. All that means at this point is that it's coming out SOMETIME in Q2. Which I already expected/hoped, but at least it's good to get confirmation .
