Wait so memes are infecting our Brains? The next your gonna tell me @Absol197 is that the Droid attack on the Wookiees isn't something we need to worry about!

No, not most memes. Most memes spread in a similar manner to diseases, but we're the ones spreading them, and they don't actively spread if humans aren't involved.

It's the difference between a silly cat picture that makes you laugh, so you share it then forget about it, and a silly cat picture where the image itself is alive, and seeks out ways to be seen by humans even if they don't want to see it, because once a human has seen it, they'll be mentally consumed until they have no memory but that picture, and unable to do anything but soil themselves and try to show other people that image, begetting the entire unholy cycle anew.

So, you know. Most silly cat pictures. Speaking of which! I found this amazingly funny picture of a silly cat on the web. Do you wanna see it?

So like the one I posted in the Trends and Statistics thread.

No. . . The memetics. . . they're spreading.

Bro. This is what I'm saying.

Perhaps they decided to save the previews for closer to the release dates, so as to avoid having the previews posted, then Mr Murphy invokes his law, the book is late, there ends up being a year between previews and book release, and hype and interest generated from the previews has dissipated. I'd save the previews until the ship is in the harbor.

Like spread them out to keep people going and interested in making new characters or revving old ones

maybe soon people will be getting email about shipping?

That'd be great, but we have to get through Cyphers and Masks first. My best guess is seeing Unlimited Power out at the end of May :( .

blah...

I shall start a petition that the first person to get this book MUST take pictures and send the whole thing to Phee, so she has the honour of doing the Forum Spoiler Thread.

We will be able hear the squee-ing in the distant corners of the world.

While I appreciate both the enthusiasm and the vote of confidence, Marcy, I actually was planning on doing something exceptionally surprising for this book: when it finally comes out, I'm planning on taking the day off from work, sitting down in my FLGS, and reading it cover to cover. And I'm going to cut myself off from spoilers (with the exception of any official FFG preview articles, if we wanted to pretend there will be any). Yes, you heard me: once this book starts shipping, I will not read ANY SPOILERS, so I can read it all myself.*

So while you previous idea of someone airlifting me the book if they get it early is still on the table, I won't settle for just pictures on this one :) .

* And to head off the obvious replies, yes, I'm feeling okay, and the real Phee is tied up over there in the cor ...I mean, is me. 100% me-itude.

That’s ok, I’m just expecting you to do all the spoilers....

I mean, if no one else gets the book before mid-afternoon on release day...sure, I'd love to do the spoilers!

But I'm expecting someone else will have already done them two to three days before I get the book, so...

@Absol197 build a Time Machine silly, if you want I can send you the blueprints. ;)

Man, Magus just jumped to the top of my list of characters I want to play next.

Hmmmm those don’t fit my current character tooo much but we’ll see

DARKNESS

Prophet resonates the most with me. Overwhelming Aura at 5 XP seems quite good! Arbiter/Prophet anyone? :-)

That's actually the best article they've had in a while. Actually tells us a bit about what the new specs actually do. What happened? :)

Even better, the feel of the Mystic as the 'Non-Jedi Force Wizard' fits the MarcyVerse very neatly.

We are one step closer; Phee is squee-ing somewhere! :)

Happy Friday!

Transmogrify talent has a worse effect than the upgrade to the Manipulate power that allows you to add Force Dice up to your Force Rating to Mechanics checks (of which almost all crafting checks fall under) and then spend Light/Dark pips to add 1 Success/Advantage per pip.

I guess it works out okay for a character that doesn't buy into Manipulate, but really, Manipulate is pretty fantastic if you're going to be crafting.

Also I'm guessing "Resistance" as a career skill for an Alchemist is supposed to be "Resilience".

Definitely going to have to refer to the full text of the "Power of Darkness" talent for the Magus as it doesn't state that it's a temporary boost, so I can see a certain player trying to argue it is a permanent stat boost...

Also at one point I was designing a custom Force Power that did almost the same thing.

"Overwhelming Aura" is an underwhelming talent. Social check upgrade to Influence boosts your character for Success/Advantage per Force pip spent without having to commit dice. IMO this is a dead talent, cuz what Prophet isn't going to grab the Influence power?

Unless there are Alchemy rules using something other than Mechanics, of course.

It's actually nice for the MarcyVerse as Manipulate is in-universe tied to the Sentinel career and messes with your head a great deal ('Machine-Heads' can 'read' synthetics instead of organics, and are marginalised even by Sentinel standards).

Allowing Mystics to do something along those lines will be cool.

Same reason that all those Universals in the Cartoon Sourcebook were such a big, game-changing deal for us (two of our oldest characters actually had nearly a thousand banked XP waiting for something like this!).

Exactly. The article specifically mentions crafting potions and poisons, which is more aligned with the rest of the Alchemist tree and skills. So my guess is that is where the talent will find its use.

A-hem:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!1!!!!11111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I loved this article! Mostly because it was actual information about the Mystic book, but still! I'm liking (most) of what I see!

So, to the specs!

Alchemist: The first thing I noticed (besides the misspelling of Resilience) is that we only got three of the four career skills. It makes sense that Medicine will be the last one, but...maybe not? I'm so glad they added Education to it, though. That makes a lot of sense :) . The Alchemist is still the specialization I'm the most uncertain on; I like the concept, but not only is it the Mystic spec that least fits with my iconic character (aside from the Duelist, obviously), I'm not certain what, exactly, it's going to be doing. I do hope that Alchemical crafting is a thing, and uses a non-Mechanics skill, s that Transmogrify is less useful than Manipulate when doing purely mechanical crafting, but amazingly useful when doing, you know, alchemy .

Magus: I'm both thrilled and a little nervous at this one. I was really hoping it would have two ranks in Force Rating, but the fact that we have a ranked talent that adds Force symbols (and specifically dark ones) is making me uneasy on that front. It still might, who knows! Sage has One with the Universe and two Force Rating ranks, so! Speaking of One with the Universe, though, I was really expecting it to show up in this tree, but now I'm not so sure, which is a bit of a disappointment as well. Especially with how they talk about the Mystic connecting with the Force in ways other careers don't, it would seem strange that no Mystic spec has that talent. I'm also hoping that the full Magus isn't so strongly focused on Dark things. Not that I think the given Conflict talents don't fit (and would even fit with Kemna! Channel Agony is obviously using one's own life-force to generate spiritual energy (everything is One in the Force), which is perfectly fitting), but the confluence of Conflict talents...I hope there's a light-focused side as well, so we can get the balance :) .

Prophet: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I love it already! Especially because Kem is basically a neophyte Prophet herself. I disagree with the earlier assessments that Overwhelming Aura is useless; I think it's fairly awesome. It loses some maximum potential, but the guaranteed Advantage is nice, and adding a Threat to opposing social checks per committed die shouldn't be underestimated. I can't wait to see what else is lurking deeper into that tree!

YAY FOR MORE INFORMATION FINALLY!!!!!
