Unlimited Power -- Sourcebook for Mystics

Yeah but based on the fact we've not even had a article.. I'm not even expecting it till autumn or August. When we get a solid date on cyphers I'll get more excited.

As I've said, Unlimited Power had a different article writer than many of the other recent books. It's possible this new writer only wrote one preview, or didn't write any at all. The fact that we don't have an article yet doesn't say much.

That said, I definitely agree that until Fully Operational starts moving, speculation is all but pointless, and we won't have any ability to have confidence until Cyphers and Masks starts shipping, as well.

It concerns me.

My panic says.. Do they not have enough finished to put out an article or two?

Your panic is wrong :) . From what I understand of the article writing process, the writer gets a full soft copy of the finished book from which to draft the announcement, preview, and release articles. If it wasn't finished, we wouldn't know about it.

I think the articles for unlimited power should be a community process, and we should all get a soft copy

Spoke to the supplier i order books from this weekend, they have said their latest update has put Unlimited power having a December release date.

April and June for the two AOR books but couldn't remember which one was first. I was mostly after Unlimited power as that's the one i am excited about :)

Although ship construction rules will be fun :)

Welp. If anyone needs me, I'll be weeping in the corner while spending the 90xp I had begun to hoard for impending releases.

That would be utterly insane. At a bare minimum, that would require Unlimited Power to have a development time of 440 days, or essentially a year and a quarter (~1.20 years). For comparison, Fully Operational is only at 375 days so far, and if we're lucky and it changes status on Wednesday, the highest it might possibly go is 399, not even breaking the 400 mark.

While in my blind panic...was it last week? I think I did give up all hope momentarily and put Unlimited Power at a December release, I think it's more likely that the supplier simply had no idea, and so gave an end-of-year release, to be safe.

That's just a placeholder date that most suppliers use when they don't have a specific date yet. I do suspect the supplier is right about the AOR release dates. My guess is these books are already at the FFG warehouse and they want to stagger releases and get back on some kind of one or two releases per quarter schedule. I wouldn't be surprised if Unlimited Power is a GenCon release.

on some level i would be disgruntle but in no way surprised if they pushed book releases back to December to take advantage of Christmas.... some twisted market guru in a cubicle giggling at the sales bump that comes with December but completely missing the fact that would make the products over a year late in some cases. Meh i am just completely dissatisfied with how FFG has handled the 4 latest books.

All we can go off of officially is the "upcoming page" which is about as accurate as a sundial at night.

That was my first thought.

If our release is nearing the season? Why not delay it till a seasonal release.

"Accuracy +100" is technically more accurate ;)

I spoke to them Friday, and they said that Asmodi had just updated their dates, so it came from them. (they said they had spoken to them last week (didn't specify when) )
They did say that these times are not exact, and it's not unheard of for books to have release dates brought forward, just that's where it was at the moment. (but they do go backwards more than forwards as we have all seen!

Don't get me wrong, i hope i/they are wrong!

My friend orders the books and he said that his supplier said closer to the end of the year. So... Q1 seemingly has been blasted out the water.

I think I'm going to cry.

At least you get a book this year consider that I'm behind you. If Mystic doesn't arrive till Q4 Warrior doesn't come till at least Q2 2019.

I’m considering cancelling my order as our campaign with my mystic in is going to finish before this comes out

I don't blame you.

My campaign is open ended and so I'll be purchasing anyway.

Remember when I said my forsee let me know we'd get another article on December? And then Christmas came.. And then new year... And now it's nearly April...

So it was right... ?

just no specifics on WHICH December ?

If FFG really wanted to mess with us they'd release articles about books that they've already published.

An article about a reprint of EotE core to fix typos. "We take fan complaints very seriously."

Nice.

You and me both. Unfortunately, no. Cyphers and Masks didn't change today, which means they aren't doing a one-week stagger (or it could mean that they are, but they've changed to only updating to Shipping Now one week in advance? Unlikely). And since they aren't doing a one-week stagger, we can't easily predict when Cyphers , and therefore Unlimited Power , will come out.

At best, we can use the time between Dawn of Rebellion 's release and Fully Operational 's to get an idea of the time between books. But that's going to be exceptionally rough.

However...using that model, we can get Cyphers and Masks released on May 3, and Unlimited Power released on June 7.

...Hopefully we'll get it much sooner than that :( ...
